To me, she stood out even as a young school girl..Never did know why her parents let her hang out with the GI's... Patriotic I guess....Her older sis married a yankee from New York State during the war lol....

Well, I don't know about in WWII or Korea, but I was raised in Leesville, Louisiana..the home of Fort Polk. I was not old enough before we moved to South Louisiana to be courted.
But, I did notice that all the local social gatherings that included soldiers were heavily chaperoned by Moms. LOL
To: Conservababe
There was one older lady who ran the social center at the church that was around...And I remember one woman, the wife of a Colonel, who dated GI's along with her daughter...I didn't care for either one of them...Over all though I think there were more honorable people around back then....for what ever that is worth...

Nope, it's rated as a scooter...The front wheels are close together, so it sort of looks like a 3 wheeler....

I know y'all are probobly not on the subject of old houses (haunted or not) But I had to leave abruptly last night (I was temparalily kicked off the internet)
But I wanted to tell you about my grandfather's house in Tennessee.
Everytime we would go and visit my grandparesnts in that house, we'd be sleeping in the second floor room (That's all it was one big room.)
I would hear and see sall kinds of strange things. especially at night, I couldn't help but think of ghosts (after all the ghost stories told by my grandfather ands other older relatives)
After all I was only a kid and the area of Tennessee my dad grew up in, the folks there believed in ghosts (haints was what they called the ghosts.

LOL!
For some odd reason, I'm reminded of the Simpson's episode that's a takeoff on "The Shining", where the ghouls open the pantry Homer is locked inside and drag him out while muttering at him.
