Well, I don't know about in WWII or Korea, but I was raised in Leesville, Louisiana..the home of Fort Polk. I was not old enough before we moved to South Louisiana to be courted.

But, I did notice that all the local social gatherings that included soldiers were heavily chaperoned by Moms. LOL

There was one older lady who ran the social center at the church that was around...And I remember one woman, the wife of a Colonel, who dated GI's along with her daughter...I didn't care for either one of them...Over all though I think there were more honorable people around back then....for what ever that is worth...
