Good places to eat in Dallas area?

I live in College Station. In May, some friends from New York will be in the Dallas area (specifically Grapevine) on business, and I'm planning to go up there and take them out to dinner. I'm vaguely familiar with the layout of the Dallas area, but I haven't a clue regarding good places to eat there.
I'm interested in moderately priced ($10-15/person) places that will provide a good taste-of-Texas experience (or at least an experience they won't be able to get up north).
Thanks in advance!

My hubby a former Texan agrees that the Texas Land and Cattle Company is fantastic. His words were '" It is the best steak house I have ever eaten at!"

I have to put up with his everything is better in Texas rhetoric all of the time! LOL

My hubby gripes constantly that he hasn't had good Mexican food since he left Texas! Now we also have good Mexican food in California, naturally, but he says ours is different for some reason. I suppose it depends on the influences in the area! I happen to love ours!

So, if I come to Houston is dinner on you at Fuad's? :-) I could get used to that kind of service! The only time I have been in a place like that was a real classy one in Las Vegas. The waiter in a tux, had a waiter of his own to do all the dirty work! I was intimidated beyond belief!

    Glad you asked!
For some good mex/texmex try the Plano Tortilla Factory in Plano, or if you are in McKinney, try "San Miguel's"....my all time favorite mexican restaurant. If you like BBQ, go to Deep Ellum and try Backer's Ribs on Commerce.
If you feel like Bill Gates, go to Addison and try Fogo De Chao, all you can eat Brazillian pit style steak.
I have yet to find an exceptional Mexican restaurant here in the Austin area.

I haven't reviewed the eateries yet, but would guess they are moderately expensive. I would expect to pay around $20 to $30 per person for entree and drink.
