"That tragedy belongs to all of America, regardless of party. I'm sure he's trying to draw attention to what he thinks was his finest moments of leadership, but I don't think he did anything remarkable as a leader during that period." A majority of Americans would disagree.

Oops!, is that the "his half" one he mortgaged?
Watching testimony with 9/11, All,
Does anyone else think it odd that the clinton admin. (Clarke included) is claiming that terrorism was the number one concern, they spent oodles of time on it, yet mum was the word with the press. The only way a person who (would have to be at least moderately interested in news) could have known that bin Laden had declared war on the citizen's of the U.S. was if they happened to see a John Miller ABC interview (5/98).
Would it have been a good idea to alert the world press to how serious clinton was and how serious it was for the U.S.? Terrorism was such an outstanding problem for clinton and company but not even a leak to the press about how serious it was at the time (calling Mr. Clarke).
Where was that bully pulpit I always hear about?

Is that a great non-sequitor, or what? Hillary has the cutest little way of insulting people, some 'slob' must of asked her what she thought presidential campaign. She got a twofer with that one.

No Kerry sitings yesterday...Must have been botox/skin peel day.
To: daisyscarlett
Kerry is certainly taking his sweet time. Senate is still in session, right?
I can't explain how much I enjoy helping to pay Kerry's salary while he vacations and campaigns.

So, really, the only home he sorta owns is the Boston one and he mortgaged his half of it, right? The others are just part of gigolo/international man of mystery tour.

sign up (w/the WP) - I use a fake name and give fake stats to all these news orgs that make me sign up before I can read their stuff. It adds a little lift to my step!

Barbara Olson sure knew about Osama Bin Laden - that's what was so eery about her book which was released posthumously. She mentions him as a threat early in the book.

A fake name, of course! It's the old "Jews in the attic" ethical dilemma. To whom do you owe the truth? Do you tell the Gestapo, when asked, that you're hiding Jews in the attic? Do you tell the Washington Post or the New York Times your real name?
Of course not. What was I thinking? Oops, I'm thinking I'd better start dinner. Hasta pasta.
To: mountaineer
Speaking of dinner, does anyone have a good recipe for LAMB SHANKS?

LOL! Did y'all see the clip at the end of the Fox News???
Lynn Cheney was speaking to an audience and got off into a discussion of her first date with Dick. She said her favorite grandmother worked as the alterations lady at the local dry cleaners and she had made Lynn a "gorgeous red dress". In fact, Lynn said the dress was the reason he'd asked her for a 2nd date.
At this point, Dick stands up, cups his hands toward the crowd and yells: "It was strapless!". Soooooo cute!

You got me there. The only thing I've ever done with shanks of the lamb or veal variety was osso bucco, which we did in culinary school - I haven't tried it since!
To: Endeavor; Hillary's Lovely Legs
What really made me laugh at Clarke's credibility was when he said that Condi Rice "looked as though she'd never heard about al Qeada." That sunk him right then and there. This fool wants us to believe that one of the smartest women in the world didn't know who or what AQ was. Sheesh!
These commission hearings will back fire on clinton and Kerry, it will show how feckless they were concerning the whole ball of wax.
HLL and I agree that after watching Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz testify we feel safe. The accomplishments of the Bush administration in the last 2 1/2 years are STAGGERING. Granted it's the start of much to be done but compared to what Mad Maddy had to say on behalf of what the clinton crowd did... HA!
Thanks for the link to the McCain story, I look forward to understanding what the heck is his problem.

"Mommy, don't let the scary man hurt me!"
Kukla clone.
"I'm so gay, I'm so gay, I'm gay, I'm gay, I'm gay!"
Ick, it's coming back from vacation.
After returning to Washington, Kerry hits the campaign trail running on Thursday. He plans to meet with officials of the Democratic National Committee (news - web sites) to coordinate campaign efforts, and is stumping with former rival Howard Dean (news - web sites). He then heads to a unity dinner featuring former Presidents Carter and Clinton before flying to key battleground states of Michigan and Missouri. Link
