America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our country!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Disclaimer: Some time back, I published a parody piece about a possible future and used a "breaking" item to start the essay. The following is TRUE!
BREAKING--SHEIK AHMED YASSIN, THE FOUNDER AND LEADER OF HAMAS, HAS BEEN KILLED BY MISSILES FIRED FROM ISRAELI HELICOPTERS AS HE LEFT A MOSQUE. THREE OTHERS WERE KILLED IN THE ATTACK, ALONG WITH ELEVEN WOUNDED
Hamas has stated that Israel has "opened the gates of hell" and are vowing to bring death to every house in the Jewish state.
Tens of thousands of mourners have taken to the streets in Gaza.
Israel says PM Sharon personally commanded the operation.
ELSEWHERE...
The biographer of Ayman al-Zawahri, the Al Qa'eda #2, states that the terrorist organization acquired briefcase bombs on the black market. US intelligence questions whether the group was successful.
President Jimmah states that President Bush and PM Blair's war was based on lies. He went on further to say there was no reason we should have been involved in Iraq.
And Senators LIEberman (CP) and McCain (R?-Media) warned President Bush and Senator J F'in Kerry to tone down their rhetoric or risk alienating Americans.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I could sure use ATRW prayers. My friend Khalida has been in the hospital since Saturday night except for a few hours at home last night. She is in the most serious condition she has been in yet. She is unconscious and the doctors say she is deteriorating. Earlier this afternoon her heart stopped for 3 minutes, but it restarted and she is still alive. Her husband has been messaging me constantly and is very worried for her. It seems that both Khalida and her husband look to me for the answers to keep her alive. I want to be used by God to keep her alive and be a blessing to her family, but right now it feels like too much. Thanks for praying. Just pray that she will feel and know God's love, even as she is unconscious in that hospital bed.

McCain said with a change of proper leadership our standing with Europe will improve? Is that what you took away from this?
I think I'm getting an ulcer.

No, I don't like the--the public opinion numbers, but I believe that they can and will change with proper leadership. Yup, that's the money line IMO.
It's better for Kerry to have McCain inside the Bush tent pissing in
Yup. Shall we order up a big presciption of Zantac for the ATRW group?

NO! USA Today reports that Zantac and other antidepressants may cause suicidal tendencies. How's that for nuts?
But I get your point; I recommend liquor. No, no...that won't work - it's a depressant. Someone with knowledge of uppers or something needs to give us advice. LOL

Zantac isn't an antidepressant. It's a stomach acid reducer. Over the counter actually
You are thinking of Xanax I'll bet. Actually, that might not be such a bad idea either......:^)

I was just looking in the Psalms for a segment of scripture and came across these verses, particularly appropriate for the day's news.
Psalm 50 22"Now consider this, you who forget God,
Lest I tear you in pieces,
And there be none to deliver:
23Whoever offers praise glorifies Me;
And to him who orders his conduct aright
I will show the salvation of God."

I just saw your question from last night. As far as your question about how much information to gather, I think that depends on how you define what you are looking for. I started off with a problem, similiar to yours. There was a story in my family, told to us by my maternal grandfather, that we were related to Alexander Hamilton. So I started off my research trying to prove it. I determined that I did have a third great-grandfather named Archibald Alexander Hamilton, but he was not related to Alexander Hamilton! By the documents that I've found on him, he was a teller of tall tales, so I think I may know where the story originated, HA!
After learning how to do research on his family, I started on my father's line, who were German immigrants in the 1880's and we have very little information on them. One particular line, there is so little I know about him, I do research on every person that I can find that is remotely connected to him.....the best man in his wedding, the god-parents of his children....anything that could answer the question that I have for him, which is, "What brought him to St. Louis, and who did he come with." I've been working on him for a long time, and still have very few answers.
For each line, develop a research question, which will then point you toward a strategy for how much you want to do.
When I started my research about 5 years ago, I didn't think that the websites that were available were worth the investment, if you were willing to spend a lot of time in libraries. When I returned to research, last fall, I was amazed at the actual documents that were now available, and the databases of indexes that are being built. I did subscribe to ancestry.com in November, and think that it is well worth it. In fact, I've got my sister helping me now, and convinced her to get a subsciption too.
My local library lets patrons access "Heritage Quest" online from home for free, which is another good source for censuses, with some excellent searching capabilities. You should check into that. Also, the 1880 census is available on "FamilySearch.org"
