Hi! My name is Kristina Lade and I am a member of Friends Working to Free Scott Speicher. We recently learned that Secretary Rumsfeld has stated the $1 Million dollars that is currently in the Defense Spending Bill for Fiscal Year 2004 is in jeopardy of being discontinued. We learned of these intentions via a letter written by Senator Bill Nelson to The Honorable Secretary Rumsfeld dated March 1, 2004. We, Scott's friends, family, and supporters have started a petition to let the Government know that this action needs to be stopped. You can find this petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?01171991 . We hope that you will sign it and pass on this information to anyone else that would be willing to help. We truly need every last signature we can get. Scott and his family need these signatures. All of America's Heroes Past, Present, and Future need them...
Also if you get the chance please visit www.operationfreespike.com and see the new efforts that are being launched to see that Captain Speicher is found and returned to US soil. There you can print out postcards and send them to Secretary Powell and President Bush and see Scott's age progressed photo. There is also a flyer there that can be sent to any soldiers you know of in Iraq.
