The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...

Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

But not yet weary are our feet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

LSA's 2002 Millenium Silver Highlander Limited is setting in the driveway, as we type this. And we concur, 'Really Purdy' :-)

Woo-hoo! Cool!

Good morning!

20 degrees out...but that's warmer than it started out yesterday.

Yeah, it's 27 here, which is what it was yesterday at noon.

Darn, darn, darn, I left my headphones at home. No music unless I can steal a pair.

And I left my coffee cup at work last night and apparently one of my siblings removed the other one from the car...where I shouldn'ta left it, granted. So I have no caffeine. Luckily I can get a tiny little cup of coffee in the library. Hope that's enough to do it.

I have only a single can of Diet Coke, myself. Well, isn't this shaping up to be a lovely day?

However, the second part of my lovely anime should arrive today! Woo-hoo, even if I won't get to watch until tomorrow night.

10 stinkin' oz. of coffee. It's really, really good coffee, granted...one of those machines that brews a cup at a time, so it's super fresh, and gourmet blends, too. If I were rich, I'd have one of those at home and just make more than one over the course of the morning.

But it's not very much coffee.

I am now out of caffeine. Shall have to get some on the way to class.

I rather dislike people with pleasant warm weather, right now.

Oh, yay! Got my expense check. It covers my taxes and still leaves enough to get a couple really nice things.

Whatcha gonna get?

I'm thinking I might allow myself one treat with the money from the guitar case. I didn't end up using my gig money for anything exciting.

Not sure what, though. If I could find a nice Easter dress for not too much, that might be a good use. 'Cause I could use it all summer...and I don't really have that many nice dresses anymore. It'd have to be very on-sale or from the thrift store, though.

What's that women's clothing store that you like, on-line? I know I like their things, too, but I'm drawing a blank on the name.

Might check Eddie Bauer, too...they don't really sell anything I wouldn't like to own, and it's all flattering and easy to care for, too, for the most part.

Um... Coldwater Creek.

I think I'm going to buy a nice big order from Amazon, and still save a bit of the money for something else. My birthday is coming up and I want to get myself something nice ;-)

Going to leave early here and go by the bank before school.

Um... Coldwater Creek.

Yes, that's it! Thanks!

Hm...wonder if they have anything nice on clearance...
