The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It's a bit of a distance, 30 minutes prolly, but it isn't a traffic commute, it's a back roads commute out to a small town where this place is.... so, it could be worse if it was any other direction!

30 minutes isn't bad, especially if there aren't any scary parts! Could be a good deal.
Best of luck, in any case!

I'm guessing this is an April Fool's joke, am I right?
To: HairOfTheDog
Good luck on your job interview!
To: Penny1
Yeah - you're right!
Some folk knew the director chosen was a horrible choice.... I didn't.... I can't believe their disclaimer though! The whois on that website shows TORN owns it!
Today's Hobbit Hoax Tomorrow...
4/01/04, 10:52 pm EST - weetanya
This afternoon we had a little chat with New Line. Apparently the press release we'd posted earlier (as some of you had guessed) was a hoax. It fooled us -- good job. Very good job, in fact. So good we're going to keep an eye on this hoax to see what tomorrow's "announcement" is going to be. [More]
Pull The Other One!

It seem April Fools-jokes centered on 'The Hobbit' were quite popular this year. The Shropshire Star for instance posted an article about Peter Jackson scouting the location for a potential Hobbit-movie and a possible love-interest for Bilbo Baggins. [More] Jim Hill Media in the meantime featured an article about Disney acquiring the rights to 'The Hobbit' and a potential theme park in the making [More] Thanks to everyone who tried to fool us with these links!

Heehee, looks like lots of people were fooled by that one! I didn't know anything about the director, I just figured the timing was too perfect with it being April 1st.
Did anyone hear Sean Hannity yesterday? He pulled a good one, had me wondering for all of about 30 seconds.
What time is your interview?
To: Penny1
Interview at ten..... gonna leave here by 9 just to be sure I can get lost and still not be late. It's in Yelm.... That'll be an odd commute huh!

Thanks.... The job is still unseen of course, but I do actually want to get this one... We need it, but also it would be a pretty comfortable job, by description.

Good morning Hobbit Hole!
I'm ready to go home and sleeeeeeep!
Becky must have ate something that disagreed with her because I was up washing sheets, cleaning *blech* and throwing away 2 perfectly great body pillows from midnight to 4am!! I'm running on 3 hours sleep and 2 cups of coffee.
No more Taco Bell for that little miss!! I don't care how much she likes their nachos. I'll never eat nachos again after what I went through.

Total waste of time. My two bosses argued with each other for the bulk of the time and pretty much ignored me. I was able to make the case that I'm doing lots of awesome work, but I've had a promotion package submitted for 2 mos that Big-she-chief hasn't even *looked* at yet. *grumble*
