Okay, her's my (wannabe) ride:
And the torque wrench setup that I'll be using for all future knife work. No more guessing, now I'll know.

re: Ride. Uh... OK... now I'm officially worried. :-)
re: torque wrench. Yow... that's the coolest little torque wrench I've ever seen. I gather that it does really precise torques on small screws like that?

HA! Thanks! Argh..... got yours too!
Will update momentarily!
Evening Ramius! did you see the photo album?
To: Fedora
Love Leiber - Fafhrd and the Frey Mouser rock!
Dislike Moorcock.
Thought Auel = Stone Age Porno. No thanks.
Never read Gene Wolfe.
Now: Lois McMaster Bujold? Harry Turtledove? L Sprague deCamp? John Ringo? Vernor Vinge? Orson Scott Card?
If you haven't read at least one of those, I'll be amazed.
Oh - and you've got mail.

I was going to mention O.S. Card next if I hadn't reached #500 by then :) I actually haven't read Auel yet, but somebody gave me a copy of The Mammoth Hunters which I've been meaning to read. Out of the others you mention I've read some DeCamp. Wasn't John Ringo with the Beatles? :) I'll check the mail shortly.

Hehe. John Ringo is a newish writer. Has a pretty decent military SF series I like, starts with "A Hymn Before Battle". He's also with Baen, and that book's online too - beware, I read it and promptly bought the sequel.
DeCamp had a couple great books. "Lest Darkness Fall" is of course the classic, and "The Glory That Was". And "The ?Unbeheaded King" was fun. Best were the stories he wrote with Fletcher Pratt, though, the "Compleat Enchanter" pieces.
Er, you now have two mails.

The torque wrench was rescued from inside an IBM mainframe being scrapped. It reads in increments of 2.5 inch-pounds, and was used to seat certain water-cooled components to the radiator assemblies. It cost IBM about $300, which is why they switched to a fixed-torque screwdriver-type device, which cost only $100.
Hair, I'll be sending you an email with higher-definition versions of the pictures.
