The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I've been informed the Lucasfilm website also has a
Star Wars April Fool's page up:
Star Wars: Welcome to the Official Site: April 1, 1979
Answers such burning questions as:
Why hasn't Lucasfilm released Star Wars for the Betamax?
Plus you can participate in an online poll asking:
Who do you think Princess Leia should end up with?

I have neither read nor seen any of those.
Sigh, another 500 words before I can watch more Kenshin. Glad you like the artwork.

Right, right, just had to remind you that dubbing = evil. Hey, glad the problem cleared up!
I have to watch this with Windows Media Player. Apparently somehow I got my hands on, er, Region 5 disks, which aren't supposed to be sold here (hehehe.... like the Escaflownes) and they won't play with the dvd software that comes with my computer. That's annoying because every time I put a disk in, I get a message telling me that it's the wrong region.

I have neither read nor seen any of those.Well, now you've got something to look forward to! :) I guess that Ultraman series was really seminal--I've been told by action figure collectors that one of the first superhero action figures in the United States was Ultraman, even before they made action figures of American superheroes.
Sigh, another 500 words before I can watch more Kenshin. Glad you like the artwork.
What's your story about?

G'nad; Happy Birthday - dang, ya don't look a bit older to me. Good stuff ya got. That is a conundrum alright, drill bits or reloading dies.. sigh.. would that all life's choices were that complex. :-) Enjoy the ceegar and sipping, y'all have had quite a year.

Rosie; sad as the news is, you'll still have some quality time with the kitty, that's worth a lot. OB & LSA

That picture of Bilbo with the pom-poms makes me feel obligated to make up a cheer for him:
Gandalf, Gandalf, he's our man!
If he can't do it, nobody can!
Other cheers we can give Bilbo? :)

For sure!
She's in my lap now, purring away.

A cat burglar who decides to retire. But it's harder than she thinks.
Met the goal! See you in 25 minutes. Well, 20, I don't like this new opening song at all. The first opening, 'Freckles', was sweet.

To: Fedora
Will do! Taking a break... have to see if the subtitles fix themselves, but this is the third time in loads of episodes that a scene hasn't been fully translated, so it's a pretty good track record.
"Freckles" is the opening song for I think the first season of Kenshin. They switched openings all of a sudden - most anime open with weird love songs that don't really have anything to do with the series I just like hearing the words in Japanese.

This is not good. I've been lookin' around at ads for pickups so I can give my pickup to Myranda. And now, I've fallen in love. It's a '54 Chevy 1/2 ton. And it's got my name all over it!!!
