The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

most interesting thing about a job is the paycheck darlin'. No yoking. Oh... and by the way, I did finally hear from da boss on my raise/bonus last week. He called me early in the morning on Fri before the checkstubs were delivered. :-) Gotta love it.
I did get treated pretty well.

You still having bite problems? It's been 2 months!
To: Ramius
I don't pay.... More of a temp-to-hire situation, like Kelly. It pays way better than Kelly though, because they do higher level placement.

I did finally hear from da boss on my raise/bonus last week. I'm glad you heard and glad you got treated well. :-)
I was wondering cause you never said anything about it. Did he wake you up with that early morning call?

Nice snaig :)
Yeah, the dubbing gets pretty funny--especially when you watch enough of those movies to recognize the voices of the actors doing the dubbing. At one time there were apparently like five or six actors who dubbed all the Godzilla movies and all the Kung Fu movies imported to the US from Hong Kong :) I guess part of the reason the dubbing gets so silly is because Oriental languages say things at a different speed than English, so to make up for the time lag they have to squeeze a lot of words into a short time, which is what makes it look like they're talking faster than their lips are moving. Thus to say "Godzilla is attacking the city! Flee for your lives!" takes takes only 1/2 second in TST (Tokyo Standard Time) :)

I don't really scratch mine, and the bites still show.... and Jen too!
It's ghastly, whatever we got eaten by.
To: Wneighbor
Didn't wake me up. But got me before I left for the office.
I was prepared for the worst. So... I'm pleased with things. If they were gonna fire me anytime soon they woulda' done it before they gave me my bonus.

Yeah, it's awesome. Even if every single episode after this one was crap, it'd be worth the money I spent. Whoa... I never get this involved in television.

Ok, at this point I'm ready to say, 'Go find Ruruoni Kenshin at your local video store'. This is worth watching!
Excuse me, the last episode ended on a rather nasty cliffhanger.

When it's spoken, to me it sounds softer than that. Like all three syllables have the same weight, and the vowels are lighter. I love listening to Japanese, it's a gorgeous language. One of the few I like to hear.
