The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...

Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

But not yet weary are our feet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Alan and his family are on our Parish Prayer List. I think about them often, and pray for them when I do.

We don't do it quite the same way, but similarly. Our choir's to sing for that...

Hey, has Soupy seen Ruruoni Kenshin?

Oh that is just SO PRETTY in your hair, Hair! ;o) I especially like the way the flowers sorta droop off of it in spots. It looks so natural!

(Soupy here!)
Ahh, Rurouni Kenshin. I have seen tragicly little of thee. But what I have seen is generally downright great ^^ It's refreshing at times to watch what is essencially historical fiction, as opposed to magical dietic battles of destiny. But then again, Kenshin has blue glowing ki ;)
Anyway, I should really see more Kenshin.

.... Sheesh, you guys are on thread SEVEN now?? I'm sure behind on the times X_x

I like it because the page gives us something to specifically pray for now...something we can really bend our hearts toward...

Fixin' to make pancakes...an experiment...

Pumpkin Flax Pancakes

1 1/4 cup flax meal
1 Tbsp sour cream
1 egg
2 Tbsp pumpkin
Spices- dash of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove and Splenda

I will ~not~ give it to you! :~P The ribbon is yellow....

You can make it! Here's a close up.... It is just a wire frame, I took the flowers off the stems they come on, and attached them with white cloth floral wire and then white floral tape... along with other purdy little pearly fru-frus they sell at craft stores in the wedding section...

Stick around, Soupy-kun....

I'll tell you, Kenshin is great. The art is fabulous. And he's really... um... cute. The battles are great and the historical bits just add to that.

Hey, when you come down for your brother's graduation, if there's time I can take you to the Japanime store in my town. They have a HUGE selection.

You can start out with a headpiece they sell at craft stores that already has pearly fru-frus on it, I just ended up burying many of mine with the flowers.

Sonya is coming over to see and maybe go shop for some more flowers, so I curled my hair and put on the headpiece.

~Smiles~ Girl stuff!

Well, if I wasn't at risk of being accused of intruding on girl stuff, I'd probably say it looked pretty :)

I'm not running today, fyi. Too sick. Every muscle in my body hurts. I'm taking it easy today but tomorrow I have classes and I don't think I can just skip.

We have the same weather. Stupid clouds.

The weather was like that here yesterday, but it cleared up today--so far. . .I feel like I'm coming down with something, too, though it may just be the dampness making my sinuses act up.

So how's the anime fest going? :)

Mostly I've been working.

But the anime I have seen has been great. Of course, in my medicated state, everything is either hysterically funny or incredibly touching, so I may be wrong, but I'm enjoying things.
