The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

300winmag; excellent presentation/evaluation and the visuals were outstanding, does the Shrade have a thumb knob and is it reversible, I'm wondering about the left handed operators out there. The plastic handle with rubber inserts does make for a better grip, wonder how well the plastic holds up to bug goop and oil. I'll trust your thorough testing, we do appreciate the seriousness of the evaluation. Thanks.

Ack... nevermind. Just answered my own question. Nothing close that isn't just colossally spendy.
To: SuziQ; g'nad
Evening SuziQ; actually, g'nad doesn't have them kinda rocks, only smooth ones around here been in a stream for a good long while. Soil, or what passes for it is a thin layer over limestone and dolomite, remnants of the inland seas. When it weathers, it's chert. Good stuff for caves and caverns, losing streams, gaining streams, and springs. Fascinating geology in them hills. :-)

Evening, how are the respective Kitties getting along?
To: osagebowman
Kitty6 is fine, according to report.... He may come home tomorrow, as soon as they can tell his digestive system is workin. Otherwise, certainly by Monday.

Great News, thanks LSA
To: LinnieBeth
wonder how that got so messed up?Very odd indeed...
To: Wneighbor
Well... the week finally did end. [sip]
Yikes. Kinda went to hell on me for a while today, but maybe back toward normality. Dunno.
To: RosieCotton
But is it all right to request an invitation even if you know you won't be able to come? Just 'cause I'd like to have it?Me too, please!

Not just you... I'm not too cheerful today. :-)
But I can still smile. Mostly.
To: HairOfTheDog
*shrugs* It's weird. I was feeling alright this morning and then by tonight I felt just plain ol' crappy (no other word fits).
It's not my "Auntie" coming to call either, so it's just odd.
