The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Fencing is never done! :~D but it is pouring out. We want to go out and find fir trees of moveable size to dig up and move. I want to plant more evergreens between us and the trashy neighbors.... but digging in the mud makes the job less fun.

She wasn't just saying that you aren't enough woman to wear huge wimmin's clothes? ;-)

That *is* funny. I gotta go pick elf-boy up from school. Think I might rent a movie too. I saw Secondhand Lions at mom's house a few weeks ago, and I think PE would really get a kick out of it.

Well, if we manage to moot before the baby comes I will give you this dress. I think she's had her fun and since I wasn't sure of her purpose in the gift, I had the manners and decency to wear it.
It is a nice dress.

Hmmm that does not sound to insulting. For a minutes I thought them was some fightn words.

Ah! Rain didn't dawn on me. It's bright and sunny here now. Duh... I forget it doesn't go *everywhere*. :-)
That will be cool if you can just dig up the trees and move them. Do ya'll have hackberry trees up there? They are my worst enemy here. Seems like I spend days every year getting rid of hackberry growth. They come up anywhere you don't mow... like fencelines.

Hey, I couldn't find the Hobbit Hole, or the Shire, or Bag End, or nothing.

Sounds like you win! But who is keeping score ;D
To: TalonDJ

Ah! even better! Keeps your good mode and saves you from having to dish out a whoopin.

She wasn't just saying that you aren't enough woman to wear huge wimmin's clothes? ;-)I don't know what all was said. What I heard I got from Celia and one student. But, no matter. She is just one of those people who are like that.
But, can you imagine the fur that would fly if I were to say something about her size? I mean, I wouldn't, but if I did.....

Actually, the sun is everywhere, if you can climb high enough... ;~D
As long as we water the heck out of moved trees this summer, we can move fairly good sized ones.

I've been wanting to see Secondhand Lions! Now, I've heard so many people talk about it I *really* want to see it. Don't know when I'll ever get around to renting it though. Seems like I forget that sort of thing now that there's not a teenager in the house asking to rent something every few days. :-)

Always good to take the higher road... Does make it easier to look down on people from up there but we just resist that now don't we :D
To: msdrby
You are *not* a beached whale!!!
Okay, I do remember what it feels like to *think* that! But, still, you are not. :-)
