The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...

Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

But not yet weary are our feet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

When you get rested and caught up, tell me how was Randy Travis. Sorry I didn't make it, but I went on home, too tired.

LOL! Well, it's nice your 5-year-old gets you gifts, but if he can only get you purple ones I guess that kind of limits what he can get you--ROFL! As for the Flintstones vitamins, I still like those, too :) When I was little my Mom had to keep me from eating more than one, LOL!

I had the greatest time! Have been reading up on your stories and getting such a kick out of them.

Hair has known all along what a white-knuckler I am and now you can truly say you've seen in it action...poor MBY looked a bit taken aback when I jumped up and started shoving her back into the car!

After we left, we went over to my little brother's house and he had your exact same car, same color and everything in the driveway! He let me drive it and I fell in LOVE! I loved your car.

That night, my mom powdered her feet with some Gold Bond and I had an allergy attack!!! ROFLOL!! No kidding, it was horrible.

I'm real tired...got in just a few minutes ago and have been catching up. We drove for 7 hours today.

ROFL! me too. I still love to eat those with my son.

BTW, he does pretty good getting me gifts. He is very creative. He has gotten me purple ear rings, wind chimes, shoes, you name it. If it is purple and he sees it in the store, I am getting it!

LOL! Too funny, did you ever get some eye drops!?! Probably just in time for the allergy attack! I am certain you are pooped! 7 HOURS of driving!

*shaking head sadly*

I've seen him once and will never forget it! I had so much fun just a-dancin' away with my former MIL and he just laughed into the mic when he saw us. *happy grin*

LOL! That's cute :) I suppose if you keep an eye out for it, there's probably more purple stuff out there than people think! (BTW, now I have the song "Purple Haze" playing in my head--ROFL!)

That is too cool! Me and my hubby did the same exact thing at a Clay Walker concert (3rd one I went to). We just 3 stepped and danced in the isle the whole concert. Don't know why we paid for seats :-)

Wow! What a great job on the photo album! I really ought to get Autumn a FReeper name...just so she can have one for when she starts typing.

Anyway, I love the new place! Had I been around more often, I would have seen the closing of the old one. But, alas, I've been swamped with busy-ness of late.

How is everyone and everything?

Here are my pictures...

At the concert, MBY, Wn and PQ jumped into the front row of our section and proceeded to practically shimmy! This is Marty Stuart:

This is Dwight Yoakum...

The front of the tee-shirt I got Wn

and the Back...

All of us!

Yes, I did get the eye drops! What a relief!

The concert was excellent, Randy Travis sang one of his new releases called "Raise him up" and the place went absolutely ballistic...by the time he got to the end, everyone was on their feet.

Very moving!

Raise Him Up Lyrics

WHEN I FIRST MET HIS MAMA, SHE WAS JUST 19
COULDN’T SAY FOR CERTAIN WHO THE FATHER WAS
BUT I HAVE KNOWN HIM SINCE HE WAS A PUP
AND I’M GONNA RAISE HIM UP

IF YOU NEVER KNEW YOUR DADDY
LIKE I NEVER KNEW MINE
IT FEELS LIKE EVERYBODY KNOWS
YOU’RE FATHERLESS
THIS BOY MAY NOT BE BLOOD OF MY BLOOD
BUT I’M GONNA RAISE HIM UP

I’LL PROVIDE FOR HIM
WALK BESIDE OF HIM
I AM STRONG ENOUGH
CAUSE IT’S TIME HE KNEW
WHAT A SON CAN DO
WITH A FATHER’S LOVE

HE COULD CHANGE THE WORLD

YOU ONLY HAVE TO LOOK AT JOSEPH
A COUPLE THOUSAND YEARS AGO
HE HELD A NEWBORN BABY HE NAMED JESUS
HE SAID "HE MAY NOT BE BLOOD OF BY BLOOD
STILL I’M GONNA RAISE HIM UP"

I WILL PROVIDE FOR HIM
WALK BESIDE OF HIM
I AM STRONG ENOUGH
I WILL SHOW HIM TOO
WHAT A SON CAN DO
WITH A FATHER’S LOVE

AND HE WILL CHANGE THE WORLD.

33 YEARS LATER
WHEN THE SON WAS IN HIS GRAVE
BROKEN AND ABANDONED
BY A WORLD HE CAME TO SAVE
HIS REAL DAD SAID
“HE’S MINE,
BLOOD OF MY BLOOD [here, Randy Travis paused briefly then sang]
AND I’M GONNA RAISE HIM UP” [crowd went absolutely NUTS]

I’LL PROVIDE FOR YOU
WALK BESIDE OF YOU
I AM STRONG ENOUGH
I HAVE SEEN FROM YOU
WHAT A SON CAN DO
WITH A FATHER’S LOVE

ONE MAN CHANGED THE WORLD AND HE CAN CHANGE YOUR WORLD

BUT YOU GOTTA RAISE HIM UP
RAISE HIM UP
