The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...

Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

But not yet weary are our feet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

You should see Independence Day. Good explosions.

We watched it a couple of weeks ago. It was fun hearing it with our new speakers and sub woofer. The walls of the basement were rattling! ;o)

Well, it's okay with me, it'll doubtless have some 'series' shock value :-)

Although I appreciate the honorarium, a 'journeyman' level perhaps, 'master' I think not. The fellas you meet at MoJAM are the 'Masters'.

Good Morning OT; NO FANCY FEAST?!!?! Ack, Ack, Miss Kitty will starve, I tell you, simply starve, before you can get back.

The windows are open and Annie is investigating the different views.

I've got the patio door open and we're getting some good birdsong here. Kitty's been out there to investigate.....think I need to get her a cushion out there so she can hang out.

Kitty's holding up under adverse Fancy Feast conditions but I had better get going soon or she might turn Viking Kitty on me.

I must take care never to become a cat slave. Our cats eat anything, fortunately, so if we're out of cat food they live on tuna for a while.

Tsk, tsk, tsk.....too much people tuna is bad for kitties....so the cat book sez. They recommend 1 tablespoon a day. If I recall correctly it's because of high magnesium levels.

Back from shopping....Kitty has Fancy Feast....all systems go....

BTW...got the stuff to make SuziQ's spinach dip.

My boss likes the Entmoot04 screensaver. I had to tell the tale of Corin's Shoes.

Oooh, spinach dip.

I was telling my boss and coworker yesterday about the steaks. Need to show them proof, I don't think they believed me.
