The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...

Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

But not yet weary are our feet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Evening! - Sonya is gone now, and ecurbh is flipping between Simpsons and basketball....

Thought we might get kilt by a tree a while back, but it has settled down now.

High wind warning all night though...

I haven't heard a word at all from Corin today. He said he would get right back as soon as he was a report though. If I haven't heard anything tomorrow I will email him.

Spidy might be more powerful but based on the movies, Wolverine is cooler. Or hotter. And while Spiderman's witty banter is amusing, I like Wolverine's attitude.

Wow! You've got bad wind there now? Glad you are safe!

So, what'd Sonya think of the dress? Did she get hers ordered?

WN; thanks, we'd appreciate it, you know, (probably shouldn't say it since he is doing it for Lent) but we miss the irascable dwarf's comments. :=)

We did a while ago have wind, but now it is calm. Highest guest so far was 39..... warning said gusts might go to 60 which is a lot to ask of a fir tree. I sometimes wonder about all these trees when I live in a shoebox! Branches hitting the house are loud enough!

Sonya will order the dress tomorrow I think, we are going to look at flowers, and she wanted to check a place that might have dresses too before ordering online.

She likes this one the best so far, and it has a matching shirt they say, though we can't find a way to order it yet. I emailed the site about it.

hmmm... I guess that means you don't need the one I gave you. Guess I'll need to take it back.

Well, you can't believe everything you see in the movies :) But Wolverine is also cool. The coolest thing he ever did was the time he beat 100 ninjas at once. First page shows the ninjas in their positions with their walkie-talkies telling their leader they're ready. Next page shows the leader on his walkie-talkie trying to get through to the ninjas--no answer. Next page shows all the ninjas dead. Next page shows the leader saying: "Wolverine is here."

Oh man!!! I love that dress!!! I hope she gets it.... if she lived as close as PQ does I'd have to borrow it! hehehe

Too bad about the wind. Ya'll should come down here tonight. I've got the windows open and still in cut-offs and swimsuit top to enjoy the breeze. (breeze - not wind) Just threw some cajun burgers on the stove!

Hungry? :-D

I was thinking that at least a corset could be hidden under the second one.

I love that one with the wine colored vest. You could actually have a very plain, long sleeve dress, and wear a heavily beaded or decorated velvet or satin vest over it! It would be gorgeous!

One thing Wolverine is also good at is extracting information from terrorists:
