The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...

Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

But not yet weary are our feet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

And this is from INSIDE the building. It works!!! Yay!!! Now, all I have to do is make sure everything is covered up and unseen by TPTB.

I've become such a delinquent!!! ;)

Now, if only I had remembered my AC adaptor this morning, I'd really be all set. But I'll only have battery-time to play today. Still, it's better than nothing, and just watch my work-internet minutes dwindle into nothing!

:)

That's what they get for being such control-freaks!

Hee... your office's way of monitoring wouldn't work for me, our main software is a browser-based app. So I always have at least one browser up.

Got this in email this morning... pretty funny!

Is it just me or does anyone else find it amazing that our government
can track a cow born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall
where she sleeps in the state of Washington. Also they track her calves to
their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens
wandering around our country.

The solution ...... to give every illegal alien a cow.

Lucky you! I'm having to sneak around more and more every day! But then again, the "stealth factor" makes it even more fun...

But alas, I only have a little over an hour left of battery time, why did I have to forget my adaptor this morning! (Silly Hobbit!) So I will probably have to lie low for a bit now and conserve my battery strength for later.

Hair, you had super-spicy pasta for breakfast! Yikes! Somehow, I think if I did that I would be paying for it for the rest of the day. Hopefully the fire will go out soon!

WN: I was just saying to my co-worker friend yesterday that I should buy a second adaptor to leave at work. Now I wish I had already done that. Oh well, lessons learned I guess! I'm still happy as a clam just to be able to "beat the system" for a change! :)

I think the solution is to hire the Crocodile Hunter to locate, tag, and re-release illegals back into their 'proper' enviroment.

Danger! Danger!

Good morning everyone!

Fedora - Sorry I missed you again last night. I was so tired that I couldn't convince myself to get up and turn on the PC, but I did watch. All I can say is...na na na naaa, na na na naaaa, hey, hey, hey, Goodbye! *grin*

WN - My prayers are with Peggy, Corin's mom. God's power has no limit and in that, I will believe.

OK, off to work now. See you later!

I wouldn't let it go to nothing, that'll give them a big clue. Use it for mundane stuff. Try mapquest.com for directions to the Burger King next door, etc.

Well, it is OK to have a short first test of the stealth-freep technology.... but come prepared from her on out!

The fire has apparently gone out in my belly. For now....

I want spring!

Maybe you should move to Texas. Today, the high is 82 degrees. All the trees are blooming, the daffodils have been in bloom for a couple of weeks now, and bluebonnets and other lupins are beginning to bud. Our carrot and pepper seedlings are coming up nicely as well. I haven't checked on the strawberry plants yet.

The heat has been turned off for some time. Yesterday, though, I had to turn the A/C on for a couple of hours. We will probably have to do the same today.

It is just gorgeous outside! There was a mickingbird this morning that decided to be my alarm clock. At 6:30 the birds were singing!

Guess what? I got my check from yesterday (which I feel like I don't deserve...) and we got more than TWICE what we got for the concert last year - $50 each! That's the most I've ever made for a gig! We've made more as a group, but had to divide it with more people.

And I'd already decided this is "mad money" to use however I like. Hmm...I can get a LOT of books with that much! Maybe some other little luxuries, too, like some exercise clothes. Woo-hooooo!

LOL, I can just hear Mr Bush saying, "Don't make me open a can of whoopass!"

Kinda like, "Don't make me pull this car over."
