For one - the long series of numbers is not an image - an image will usually end with .jpd or .gif

Your image needs to be published somewhere on the web so others can see it. Right now it's only an image file on your computer...nobody else can see it but you.

First, "http://images.snapfish.com/" doesn't look to be a valid URL.
Second, "339%3A535923232%7Ffp58%3Dot%3E232%3B%3D%3B97%3D648%3DXROQDF%3E23234%3A8%3B2%3C437ot1lsi" is not a valid image filename format. It should, at the very least, conclude with .jpg or .gif.
Thirdly, proper syntax for the html tag you should be using is as follows:
<img src="URL and path to image file goes here between the quote marks">
So...if I wanted my image of kissing lips to show up I would post the following string:
<img src="http://freepers.zill.net/users/bloody_sam/images/kissing.gif">
And it would look like this:

Images need not end with such extensions, since the MIME type is what determines what's done with the picture. Many servers use extensions to determine MIME types, but they need not.
My guess is that the URL in question is a "temporary" URL which is no longer valid. If you want to post a picture, you'll have to find someplace which hosts the picture permanently.

(since this is an inactive thread but appropriately titled, I'm moving this html discussion here...)
I'm no expert but trying to place html text on a image in specific locations is probably doomed to failure. Font sizes and screen resolutions very from computer to computer. If you make it work on one setup it likely won't work on another.
The best thing to do is edit the graphic directly.
Of course, I could be wrong... well DOOMED is a little strong, I see that things do vary a little, between IE and Netscape/Mozilla/Firebird but not TOO much.
Sometimes its too much trouble to edit an image, and store it back out on the web. Its nice to just be able to overlay the image with some text and/or another graphic. (and its a fun challenge). Thats what I did here....

The only unfortunate thing I learned after posting this (with Mozilla) is that the size=-2 I used for the text under Jamie's name shows up VERY VERY small on IE 6.0, almost unreadable.
(Dang, I can't imagine why IE would ever let things get that small.)
For ME, the text stretched all the way down to, but not past the bottom line.
It turns out the default proportional-font size on IE6.0 iss 15 or 16 pixels, while my proportional-font size on Mozilla is 18 pixels. (but I can't recall if I tweaked that, or if 18 is the default for everybody)

Redcloak overlayed TEXT over a personal-check image here and I'd say it turned out fairly well. On MY computer the text doesn't line up perfectly but close enough.
