My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Understood.
The disallowance of certain words in the English language dates back to the time of the Norman conquest of England.
When William the Conqueror won the field at the battle of Hastings in 1066, he took over the "government" and installed all his friends and lackeys in power. They spoke their own language, and considered anything else "vulgar."
England had its own problems with a guy named Bill.
Even worse ... they were French!
(And no, I wasn't there that day ... the Mediterranean has a better climate...)

Good morning, everyone! Hoping this finds everyone well:
He Bids His Beloved Be At Peace
William Butler Yeats
I hear the Shadowy Horses, their long manes a-shake,
Their hoofs heavy with tumult, their eyes glimmering white;
The North unfolds above them clinging, creeping night,
The East her hidden joy before the morning break,
The West weeps in pale dew and sighs passing away,
The South is pouring down roses of crimson fire:
O vanity of Sleep, Hope, Dream, endless Desire,
The Horses of Disaster plunge in the heavy clay:
Beloved, let your eyes half close, and your heart beat
Over my heart, and your hair fall over my breast,
Drowning love's lonely hour in deep twilight of rest,
And hiding their tossing manes and their tumultuous feet.

Here Freedom Flies In Your heart Like An Eagle

Dusty old helmet, rusty old gun,
They sit in the corner and wait -
Two souvenirs of the Second World War
That have withstood the time, and the hate.
Mute witness to a time of much trouble.
Where kill or be killed was the law -
Were these implements used with high honor?
What was the glory they saw?
Many times I've wanted to ask them -
And now that we're here all alone,
Relics all three of a long ago war -
Where has freedom gone?
Freedom flies in your heart like an eagle.
Let it soar with the winds high above
Among the spirits of soldiers now sleeping,
Guard it with care and with love.
I salute my old friends in the corner,
I agree with all they have said -
And if the moment of truth comes tomorrow,
I'll be free, or By God, I'll be dead!

Sam, I remember Audie Murphy. I went to all his movies and read every movie magazine stroy about him.
Listening to the tunes now. Love As Tears Go By. Thanks much Sam.

Shading your memories
away in landscapes of fading
sepia tint
will my desire have my lover
a paintbox of scarlet hearts
and watercolors of black tears

Shading your memories Very nice, feather :) .. I love your imagery as always!
Red
My recollection slides into a world of grey
The outline of your bed begins to fade
Like the edges of an old scrapbook
That has seen too much time pass along its edge.
The colors on the inner page remain
Vibrant, warm, as vivid as the nights we shared
The red of your hair mixed with the blond of mine
Giggling, laughing in a joyful knot of love.
The red of our hearts, beating as one
A deeper shade than the grey around me, swirls
That part of our lives' page remains
In that special place even time cannot reach.
The red that haunts me now is neither hair
Nor our hearts combined as ones betrothed
Red is now the lifeblood of my broken dreams
Dripping, slowly, upon that vivid page
The edges fade, as time begins its ravage
But the inner page that holds my heart remains
Memories may fade and drift to nothingness
But my love for you remains - forever.

CG, can you imagine?
She liked it! And she wants more!
I really dont think she appreciates,
Just exactly what shes in for...
"Wedding Bell Blues"
The chance to marry young people,
Does not come to every one,
You need to be a minister,
It takes more than a Bible or gun.
I married a lesbian couple,
(Theyre no longer living in sin.)
But what will be their response to,
The sneaky trick I slipped in?
I rewrote the words a little,
That seemed to be the need,
They hardly noticed my mischief,
And thats how I sprung the deed.
They think they married each other,
You could see the joy in their eyes,
But when they head out for the honeymoon,
Theyre in for a big surprise.
I couldnt resist the temptation,
They were quite lovely to see,
Just imagine their consternation,
To find out they married Me!
With considerable trepidation,
submitted for possible collaboration with:
Conspiracy Guy!

They both have lots of money now,
But for divorce Ill file.
They never saw me coming on,
They missed me by a mile.
Oh wait Im doomed I see now,
Oh how could I not see.
By marrying this couple,
I committed bigamy

What? Bigamys not a problem?
Marriage has been redefined?
The property settlements coming,
I wonder which one will mind.
Im getting what I want out of this deal,
But one of thems left behind.
A reconciliation?
Someone must be out of her mind.
Or maybe its me whos gone crazy,
To have ever thought that I could,
Please two ladies who dont want any part of me,
Even parts that I thought were real good!
