A caller into a local talk radio show yesterday reminded me of a very important point about WMDs.
It wasn't that we had 100% proof that Saddam had them ... it was that he refused to provide evidence that he had destroyed them, as called for by UN Resolution 1441.
That is a very significant point ... perhaps the most significant one.
And I would love to see someone speak to the other demands of that Resolution every time WMDs are mentioned.

Good point, kayak.
Also, an article the other day reminded me that both President Bush and Prime Minister Blair offered Saddam 60 days to leave Iraq and have his troops stand down. He refused that as well.

And I would love to see someone speak to the other demands of that Resolution every time WMDs are mentioned. The problem is, as I see it, is that those who constanly harp on the WMD issue (usually by distorting what the President said, or reports have pointed out) don't want to face the realities of the situation (17 violated un resolutions be damned). The reason being is that they hate President Bush far more than they love this country...so much so in fact that they would prefer to see a terroist supporting, murderous dictator left in power, regardless of the dangers that would pose to America and the rest of the world.
People like this never let a little thing like the facts get in the way of their "preceptions".

Even if SayDamn told us that he did have them, where they were, when he put them there, the democrats would not belive it. The game with them is 'get W'!

We may not have, yet, found WMD but we did find some Mirage and Mig aircraft buried at least 10 feet underground. They were completely encased in shrinkwrap. So......there may be a whole passel of WMD buried somewhere. One never knows, and saddam did have some buddies in syria who could have helped him out. I've heard there was a whole bunch of traffic between syria and Iraq. as this traffic transporting money for saddam or WMD?

Good point kay, from that caller. We need to keep these things first and foremost in our minds in the months ahead.
The libs will keep trying to change the focus...adapting and readapting to suit their evil ends.
