The spirited crowd, some clad in furry groundhog hats or even full-length costumes, chanted "Phil! Phil! Phil!" after fireworks and a long night of rock music drew to an end and the hour of the ceremony neared. No words express... Its a friggin enlarged rat.

I live just 30 miles from there and have never been to Gobbler's Knob. I heard it gets really crazy. My son and his bud went there several years ago but left early because the crowd was so big they couldn't even get close.

I've always wondered how they know whether Phil sees his shadow or not. Does he do the I See My Shadow Dance or something?

The prediction drew boos from thousands who gathered in 17-degree weather for the 118th annual festivity run by the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club. These have got to be Eagles fans. Who else would boo the ground hog?

That critter would look mighty good in the crosshairs of my 22-250.

In Texas we dont use the groundhog approach, it never works anyway.
When the mesquite trees get leaves, then and only then is winter really concluded for yet another year.
Thats April-ish...and coming soon. :)

Groundhog Booed As He Sees His Shadow Must have been a lot of Eagles fans in the crowd this year.

My dad hated these little bastards; they used to get into his garden and eat his vegetables; he used to plink at them all summer long.
Boo? Hell! Shoot the little varmint.

Phil has an enlarged overbite. He desperately needs a trip to the dentist.

Big crowd from Philly in Punxsutawney this year?

More than a dozen states celebrate the day with their own critters, including Dixie Dan in Mississippi, Buckeye Chuck in Ohio and Gen. Beauregard Lee in Georgia. General Lee saw NO shadow this mornin'. Suffer, ye Yankees. :-P

I must be one of the few who like winter and want some more before the excitement of spring and severe weather comes...

6 more weeks of winter? ... can we call in an F-15 strike on the groundhog? (hope that's not too un-PC)

It looks like that guy is getting ready to expose the groundhog's right breast.
