The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I was in Walmart last night and my brother called. Startled me for a sec...thought "Oh, my purse is ringing!" LOL
I gotta learn some kind of etiquette or something...I was laughing and carrying on with him and realized I was standing in the middle of the boys pants department and that maybe I should speak a bit softer and not be so animated?

Star Trek sounds good. I'm watching a PBS thing on Sparta right now.

I must have missed it or muted it, but I missed the "Whip song"! Rats. Replay it! that is THE only redeeming part of the whole movie.

Well. If you lived close enough to here I would take you to my college cosmotology dept for a pedicure too. I mean getting you an $8 pedicure wouldn't break me this week either! Even if it is a VEY cheap gift! LOL
Only reason I don't get pedicures as often as I get nails is that I go to 2 different locations for them. Too much getting out for me! I used to not be like that! :-)

I like the pre-paid minutes. I don't like paying monthly for something I'm not going to use very often.
My plan to fire the phone company is facing obstacles....I can't get Earthlink cable internet because of contractual deals the apt has. I know I can get SBC DSL but I'd still have to have a land line to get it (and I wouldn't get nationwide unlimited dialup access for when I go visit "back home." Not sure if I can get cable internet with Direct TV yet.
*Sigh* At least I can get all the radio broadcasts of the stooopid Cubs over the internet for not too much.

That is interesting news!

Well, I woulda done the same thing as you eventually, had my parents not put me on their plan. They didn't ask me to, but they told me it was an extra $15 a month to add me, so I am gonna get Steve to make it part of our budget and pay it.
Now that's a good deal, huh?

Yeah...wonder if Steve thinks it is. :)
To: 2Jedismom
Wow, $15 a month isn't bad at all!
Sigh.. slogging through homework and I'd rather be reading. Oh well.

Oh...then it all works out! I just buy minutes cuz I don't really use the phone much....that is, if you don't include the internet connection.

Just after I got to church this morning I thought "I better turn it off", so I did...turned it where it would just flash lights when I get a call. Fifteen minutes into the service, my mom called! (Her worship starts 30 minutes later than ours.) I could see it down there in my purse just flashing! Whew! One thing I HATE is a cell phone going off during worship!

We had that happen in church last week - twice! And the second time was during communion and whoever it was just let it ring! I was astonished!

One thing I HATE is a cell phone going off during worship!Yep, me too. I only forgot *one* time when it went off. I turned it off and called my friend back fumin' mad after church. Fortunately I didn't start off by blastin' him cause he'd called to tell me his mom just died. EEEK!!!

I bet it could be worse though...I bet people just forget. I almost did! (I'm still not used to having it, though.)
I would venture to say that most people make an effort "nowadays" to turn them off...seems like it's gotten less to me. Or maybe it's just that they can get them to vibrate instead. Mine does...but I prefer the flashing lights...it got my attention from my purse and I didn't have to hold it or anything.

I dunno...my brother had me laughing and slapping my knee, just like I was in my livingroom or something!I think it's nice to get to laugh that hard! Who cares if it's in WalMart. Now, if you'd had it on in church and done that...........
