The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

It's been 5 days since I sent the care package to the Major in Afghanistan. I bet he has it by Wednesday of next week. Whenever I sent those packages to the Chaplain, they'd take anywhere from 9-13 days.

Nothing new to report really, same ole same ole here. Typical Army, we haul too much fuel south cause people wont listen to us, and today we had to go pick it back up after they ran out here. No big suprise really, after all it is the Army.
The weather on the other hand is beautiful...Sunny and 60 today. We played the worlds worst game of basketball today for PT.
To: smaagee
Sun! I want sun!
Actually, it's not too cold right now although we're supposed to get down to -10 sometime next week.

Crystal tells me it has snowed pretty much all the time the past week, she is sick of it. I would take some right about now. Funny enough, that is one thing I miss.

even better the second day...Kinda like gumbo! I'm doing lunch for the Robotics Club on Feb. 16th, and I'm gonna make a pot of gumbo to go along with it. The kids may not like, but I know a few of the coaches will!

We have a little over a half million gallons of JP8 here, it's mogas for the 8000 plus top of the line SUV's the government bought for this little occupation that we ran out of. I'm not kidding, fully loaded suburbans, Excursions, and Tahoes. The Brass travels in style here.

We're decluttering our house, and I ran across a box of Beanie Babies. Our kids have a BUNCH of these things they will never play with again. Might they be something your guys could give to the Iraqi kids with whom y'all come in contact? We'll be glad to ship them to you.
