The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I'm just happy the guy doesn't show up in a kilt. Though, bagpipes would be neat with our pipe organ...

Heh...Bilbo is wearing a kilt for the concert we're playing in on St. Patrick's Day. We also figured out that we're playing at least as many Scottish tunes as we are Irish...but oh well. Most people wouldn't know the difference anyway!

Today we played for our church's St. Patrick's dinner. Went pretty well. As usual we were just background and no one paid us much attention with the exception of a few fascinated kids...but a lot of the time, I like it that way.

I did my run today, too. It was still awful hard. I'm worrying and wondering about the twenty minutes, but hoping I can do it. I've been surprised a few times already, so hopefully...

Also corned beef sandwiches :)

Mmmm...and Reubens. I'm gonna have to stock up on corned beef - it's way on sale everywhere this week!

Been quite a long while since I've had a good Reuben. *drool*

There's an all night truck stop place about an hour away that has the BEST burgers and sandwiches and just about any other sort of diner food you could imagine. Once in a great while when I'm not exhausted, we go there after the Friday jam. Might have to do that sometime in the next month, and get a Reuben...on their homemade bread. Wunnerful stuff.

Came in just in time to snag THAT number?

Glad the moot went so well! As if it would be anything but. I'm hankering for another moot. Wish we could have another Entmoot! Next year, hopefully. We've GOT to have another, though. That goes without saying.

Hi, Ruthy! Tell Trini "hi" for us, if you hear from her again! Wish I could have some of the weather she must be experiencing...

Hi Rosie!

She sounds pretty happy to be in her old stomping grounds, but boy do I miss her! We usually talk twice a day and I've gone from that, to no conversation at all!

I'm sure the weather there must be fabulous too. It's been partly cloudy all weekend here in Miami, so I couldn't bathe Jessi or do the yardwork I wanted to. *sigh*

Well, I'm not getting to have my whole week off for spring break but I'm sure stacking a lot of stuff into the days I do have. Lots of eating here too. Had Lone Star Moot, celebrated birthday today with Aunt, Uncle and cousin, tomorrow I have lunch with one friend for my birthday and dinner with another. Then gotta drive like a bat outta you-know-where to get home for work on Tuesday! :-)

But, I still can't resist all the fun here while I have a chance. I can imagine all that Trini is doing after being away from home for so very long! :-)

Evenin' g'nad; sounds like a "dog-hair" thicket. If you can thin out enough of the alternative vegatitve materials, and leave those size saplings on a 8' or 10' spacing, you're well on your way toward growing a fair-to-middlin crop o' timber.

The clearing and general housekeeping does make it easier to spot varmits out by the gate, good plan.

Good job on the run, Rosie! Let's not worry about Friday just yet. We'll get there, or we won't.

I'm not so much worried about it as I am amazed that we've already arrived at this week!

Geesh, I'm tired. Stayed up fairly late, had to get up early to go to the early service so we could get set up to play for that dinner, ran, played for a longggggg time, almost immediately had to head out to a rehearsal for ANOTHER gig (the St. Patrick's Day one) and did a lot of driving and running around in between things.

I'd better get to bed. See you tomorrow!
