The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Good analysis--sounds like an accurate description, all right, and that would explain it. If that happens I bet the ecoterrorists in Seattle and Portland and San Francisco would join in the civil disobedience--would get ugly.

Yahknow what's sad? We had a Frisco Freeze here in Gig Harbor for the longest time... but they went belly up about a year or so ago. Very sad.
No Frisco Freeze for us anymore...
Good night, all...it's past my bedtime.

That is sad. But the original is still there, and being a Stadium grad, there's none but the original in my heart.

I also have a bread machine recipe, but you hafta take it out and bake it in the oven once it is ready for baking.
As for Hummus, yum! Few weeks ago, I made hummus, tabouli, and felafel. Bought the pita bread (I chickened out). Now I think I am craving some Greek food. tzadziki... and shish kabobs.
Tzadziki
Yield: about 3 cups
Serve as a dip with pita triangles, as a salad served on lettuce leaves, or as a side course for grilled meats and spicy foods such as curry.
* 2 medium-size cucumbers
* 2 cups yogurt
* 4 cloves garlic, minced
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
Peel the cucumbers and slice in half lengthwise. With a spoon, scoop out the seeds and discard. Grate the cucumber coarsely and place in a medium-size bowl. Stir in yogurt, garlic, and salt. Garnish with parsley. Chill at least 30 minutes and serve.
mmm.

There's one out by Stadium?? Cool. I'm up for that.
Have shotgun and/or concealed handgun. Will seek burgers. :-)

I don't think there's any way you could do it in a breadmaker.Probably not--I was just hoping! :)
I like the Athenos line of hummus--lotsa good flavors :) Like tabouli, too.

Sorry, WN, never been to Chris'. I always ate What-A-Burgers. (I know, I know ... but Chris Madrid's was never nearby to me --- I always worked down south!) However, many people I know agree with you.

Yeah, the original is the one by Stadium (near Mary Bridge Children's hospital, just up Division from Wright's Park). Used to get free burgers and shakes from buddies who worked there at 2:00 a.m. on Saturdays (closing time). The place is exactly the same as it was 30 years ago. You walk up and order from an outside window, then they call out a number and you walk up and get your burgers when they're cooked.
To: Ramius
Yes you are. You're sure you aren't heading that way. Trust me. :-)Are you sure I can trust you on this? I mean, I usually seem to get into trouble when I listen to guys that say "trust me." *raising eyebrows*

Thanks!--that sounds good! :) At restaurants I like to eat that kind of stuff with falafel. The cucumber yogurt really adds to it-great stuff. Also goes good with carrot juice or mango juice.
To: Wneighbor
It's only about 4-5 miles. Wife and I go there...my old High School stomping grounds. Easy drive along City boulevards. Actually, it is something we should definitely do when you're here. A bit of old town "culture". Low style culture, but nonetheless. It's a historical experience. There really isn't good Mexican here...nothing to even slightly compare to Tex-Mex. So, yeah, we'll do the Frisco Freeze and E-9 for the best microbrews in the universe.
