I don't think it's a personal dislike, they are just trying to correct the misconception that its a true story, because it probably isn't.

I'm still looking forward to seeing it, though.

The impending war in Iraq forced the production to move from Morocco to Baja California Sur, Mexico in February 2003. The movie was originally scheduled to use Malta as well as Morocco and other African countries for filming.


Director 'Wolfgang Peterson' left the proposed Batman Vs. Superman project to direct, and cast member Brad Pitt left The Fountain.


George Camilleri, a keen bodybuilder who won the title of Mr Malta in 1989, broke his leg while filming an action sequence at Ghajn Tuffieha, Malta on 30 May 2003. He was operated on the following day but suffered complications and died on 17 June 2003.


Brad Pitt, who plays Achilles had a mishap during the production - he tore his left achilles tendon.


While filming in Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico, the production had to deal with two hurricanes in less than a month; the last hurricane came the last week of production, when everything was pretty much wrapped.

Yes, Rose and I both liked Matrix 3. There was a lot of... hmm... religious and philosophical allegory in the movie. I'm not sure what it all *meant*, but that just makes me want to see it again on DVD.

Yeah - That Longriders Guild is a long distance endurance racing association that initially researched the legend because they wanted to believe it for their own lore. They just couldn't authenticate it.... They found all kinds of reasons not to believe it.

There just isn't any evidence that any of the races he says he won ever happened. No newspaper coverage or anything. And the Arabian race, that they said had gone on for a thousand years? - No one in Saudia Arabia has ever heard of it.

Our friend Mr. Hopkins loved to tell tall tales, and this was likely one of them.

Ever see Fargo? There is a caption at the beginning that says it is based on a true story, and only the names are changed to protect the innocent. But the filmmakers later admitted that it really wasn't true, and it was just a ploy to pull the audience into the movie.

Yeah, good idea to watch them in order--the plot's so complex it's challenging to follow even if you start from the first one, people I know who've tried to jump in at the second one get totally lost.

So, you've seen Die Hard, huh? I secretly love that movie.

I liked #1 as the least unrealistic, hated #2, didn't mind #3. "Die Hard" made use of the simple fact that dead bad guys have lots of useful things on them, like weapons, ammo, and intel. Most movies ignore little details like that.

The biggest suspension of disbelief was that while good-guy cops, who in the movies are the only weapons experts outside the military, can out-think and out-shoot trained terrorists with state-of-the-art equipment and tactics.
