The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Hi, thanks for the welcome! Nice to meet you, too :) I like your tagline--seems like I noticed either you or someone else on FR post something with that tagline before and it made me smile :) I ended up here because I was on another thread and noticed 2Jedismom posting a quote from Silmarillion, and when I commented on it she was kind enough to point me over here. Having a great time! Thanks again for the greeting, and very nice to meet you, too--or as the hobbits say, at your service :)

The only digital camera I might POSSIBLY have access to is my father's.
And he acts as if it's gold plated.

Other strange LotR/PoA (
Planet of the Apes) parallels:
--The orc battle music in the Bakshi LotR is suspiciously similar to the apes' battle music in the original PoA.
--Roddy McDowell does the voice of Sam in the Rankin-Bass Return of the King cartoon.
Coincidence. . .or Cornelius? :)

Weird.

Elf-boy got it for Christmas, and it's one of the larger ones. It came complete with a removable cape, and a sword and scabbard.

Really??? Cool...
Yah know... the timing would be good for another all-day marathon... I wonder if somebody could do that.
I 'spose we could do one of our own...
To: Penny1
Glad you were able to get back on. How many hours do you get per week?
To: Penny1
Sounds like you need a new ISP... what sort of arrangement do you have?

Elf-boy got it for Christmas, and it's one of the larger ones. It came complete with a removable cape, and a sword and scabbard.Sounds very cool :) I used to have some large Star Wars and superhero figures like that--much nicer than the small ones, though somewhat disproportionate for playing with because most of the other figures we had were smaller, so we'd end up with, for instance, a giant 12" Darth Vader fighting a 2" Luke Skywalker :)
Watching the premiere of Conan the Destroyer on AMC right now. Right now the governor of California is about to be piledriven by an apeman sorceror :) What's everyone else up to?
To: Fedora
yeah, and Luke wins! Kinda like the odds at Helm's Deep.

Woohoo! My latest experimental dinner turned out great.
It was cheese stuffed shells with leftover shrimp-spaghetti sauce. I didn't have any ricotta cheese, so I substituted cream cheese. The ricotta probably would have firmed up better while baking. I will have to remember that next time ~bake longer if using cream cheese to substitute. Of course, the shrimp was also an experiment. I made teriaki shrimp a couple of nights ago and had leftover frozen shrimp, so I put it in the leftover s'ketti sauce to make a new dish. Yesterday, we had spaghetti with shrimp. Of course, there was a *ton* of sauce left. What to do with leftovers... Now, I have four stuffed shells for leftovers. Methinks they will be gone by tomorrow evening. :-)

Sounds yummy... the cream cheese was an extraordinarily good call.
