The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Yes, that is very pretty. I'm kinda needin' to focus on just useful though - ya know? In case I *need* it. Not a lust factor. :-)

I found that I was doubting myself on the description of the M-4 as a carbine. Is that truly the case? I thought it was but then had second thoughts. It's considered a carbine due to the shorter barrel, and telescoping stock. The latest versions the Army has been buying are the flat-top, too.

That Glock autoloader might be what I mean! I have just had a couple guys tell me lately that someone is out with a .45 SemiAuto that has a smaller grip.
I wouldn't need a .45 in revolver. I have the best revolver already! My S&W .357.

I won't badmouth the glock. They have a grip feel that either works for the shooter or it doesn't. It doesn't work for me. But I know a lot of people that it really does work for, and that's what really matters.
If it fits your hand and you can control it in a rapid fire situation... then that's what you should go for.
To: Ramius
I did not get to fire the Glock. I just looked at it. I will continue to look around, I had just been intending you ask around here and get some input. Knew there would be good advice. Prolly will even get more when G'nad catches up tomorrow... ya think? :-)
I am fading fast here tonight. Think its time to go to bed in Texas. HUGS 2 U. and goodnight.

Hmmm--looks like Bravo here must be on a different schedule than by you, I can't find it there. But now you've got me in a Jaws mood, so I may just pop in the videotape anyway :)

Finally found my pastel drawing in the computer, and posted it inexpertly on my webhost or whatever it is. Wasn't sure whether it was OK for FR, though I imagine it's fine, but to be sure I stay out of trouble, I (think) I have linked (inexpertly) to the thing.

Yes, that is very pretty. I'm kinda needin' to focus on just useful though - ya know? In case I *need* it. Not a lust factor. :-) But of course... that would be the first one I showed ya. Something in a single-stack magazine with a short barrel, and an alloy frame. Light, small, thin... but still shoots like the dickens.
IMHO... Glock would clean up if they only offered something that didn't require the double-stack magazine. That double-stack grip is just too darn fat for most people and gets in the way of many concealed-carry options.

Night darlin', I'm ready for bed and going there now. *wink*

Very nice work! I'm trying to learn pastel now and I'm impressed :)
To: Fedora
I think I noticed it a while ago, but I'd forgotten. I think he's pretty much Frodo to everyone, lol...

I think I noticed it a while ago, but I'd forgotten. I think he's pretty much Frodo to everyone, lol...He'll probably be Frodo the rest of his life, LOL! Not necessarily a bad thing--he'll always be popular!--but I wonder how that will affect his acting career?
To: RosieCotton
I'll keep you in my prayers, Rosie!
To: Fedora
He's been at this business a long time and I'm sure he grew a lot as an actor during this project. Now he just needs to pick the right roles and he'll be fine.
