My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Your welcome. I think most of us feel the same way. We are often surprised at what we can come up with.

And At Twilight...
Morning saw us, peace and calm,
warm hearts with no chill.
Hours flew by, high tea called us,
all smiles and gentle thrill.
But twilight dusk surrounds us,
and to my tower I must return,
The lonely watch is mine to stand
and comfort I must spurn.
But watch is difficult this night,
my keep is cold and dark,
and memory of the love you've shown
leaves my heart barren and stark.
I curl myself against the winds,
my cloak becomes your arms
I ache upon my watch this night
tho' my heart, your lovelight warms.
I find that, in my solitude,
my longing for you grows.
And my heart and body both conclude
I love you - and my lover knows.

A Mile of Snow Drift
Down the lonely road I drive
Never blinked or took the time
Words remembered lost in mind
Cluttered just like the road
Across the snow drift I must go
First one way, and then another
I swear that tree looked like my mother
Then pirouette by the pines
In my car as well as mind
With white knuckled hands I take my time
Down this mile of drift where I glide
The car rumbles, shifts and slides
As do the pictures in my mind
I'm halfway there with a swerve and a shudder
I may be swearing, but it's only a mutter
Sideways now with a curse and a glance
Wish that polar bear hadn't tried to pass
And with a slide and a twist, oh man I'm p!$$ed
I finally know that it's the road I missed
Along th bank I gently glide
Creamed a garbage can and a slide
Oh boy is the wife gonna skin my hide
It's the day of the drift
And I'm in for the ride
Oh wait, what's this?
I'm back on the road, more wise less bold
And with skinless teeth I have arrived
At the end of the mile long snow drift slide

let me go and be open to a new love
wherever she may find you
don't let your fire die
just save it for another
weep no more for us
somewhere down this road of life
you can be happy again

I LIKE that, D! Great laughter - with the white knuckles, too.

Thanks.
Inspired by a mile stretch of snow drift near me, and someone saying a few lines of what could be a poem about it...

Lovely Colonel, simply lovely.
To: snippy_about_it
Snippy now you take care and get some rest. Can't have all the dancers down sick.
To: Darksheare
Darksheare I like this, good work! Thanks much. :-)

I am resting. I finally went to the doctor today. This thing started about 10 days ago. He said it's just viral and to stay away from sick people. LOL.
You know our poor Sam has it now. :-(

Sam is sick? I did not know that. :-(
Oh I am sorry.
Rest and drink lots of water and juice, and stay warm.
Well, I know I have had my turn in the barrel, not fun.

Feathers, how about we let the good folks sit one out, and...
...we dance for them?
To: Old Sarge; bentfeather; snippy_about_it
Capitol idea.
I have two left feet and three legs when I attempt to dance.

Bridge of Relief
You are my bridge
spanning onto new plateaus
over patches of rough water
open chasms of peril and fear
with you near me...
I have no dread of tomorrow
or of cold black nights
or of holding ceremonies
from dusk til dawn
you are my dusk, my dawn
my past and my future...
you are the ceremony...

Then, I shall lead...
We dance once more!
Just like always, like before,
the room looks upon us as we spin
the lights twinkle on the skirt, on your shin,
music swells and carries us off
to places where we love.
At arm's length, then close to me
you twine about me and embrace me,
holding close your fluttering eyes,
trembling in my arms.
Or, is that me, quaking
with the hope of making
a dream live in your eyes tonight?
Your shining face, your tight embrace,
crimson life behind your lips,
pressing closer, scented romance,
your mouth fastens on me...
and the world just stopped.
She's kissing me.
Alive and melting to my touch.
my breath has stopped, I'm frozen
by this kiss
...and then, it's over,
and the world turns once more
around the dance floor.

At last.....
I have you in my arms
I have waited so many dark lonely nights
for this moment and want it to last an eternity
You are my Lancelot
suave, handsome and gentle
a royal my arms
and I lost in your charms
dance to the music of the night
hold me tight
cast the love light on my eyes
swirl me across the floor forever more
for there can never be another for me...
My royal dancer
my Lancelot romancer
