[history]
January 14, 2004 -- DENVER, Colo. - Kobe Bryant's accuser allegedly suffers from bipolar disorder - and may have been in such a "manic state" at the time of the reputed attack that it boosted her sex drive and willingness to bed someone, the defense is charging. The basketball star's legal team, in court papers released yesterday, quotes John Ray Strickland, one of the accuser's ex-love as saying she is bipolar.

You're wasting your time. That whole "due process" nuisance is irrelevant to some.

don't know why the court-filing refers to her has manic-depressive. Wouldn't she be on Lithium in that case? Seroquel's website says it's for the treatment of schizophrenia which is not the same as bi-polar. Often antipsychotic meds are given to bi-polar pt's who are fast cyclers and do not respond to Lithium or Carbamzapine. Psych meds are normally marketed towards one general condition, but are usually helpful with other disorders as well.

In that press conference not once did his wife say, "He's innocent." Instead, she did not say a single word, glared at him. Obviously she did not think he was innocent. Then there was the ring -- a very stupid PR move. The wife could believe he's innocent of rape but guilty of adultery which could explain the glare.
She's still his wife and that's probably helping him --- so the ring might not have been such a stupid PR move.

Actually the 50% divorce rate is a misnomer. The reason the number is 50% is because of all of the individuals that have had 2, 3 or more divorces. The real number to look at is that 75% of marriages will last until death us do part. There is still a glimmer of hope out there.

What possesses a woman to call BS on a potentially fake charge? Love of justice.
Let me ask you this. What will you do if he's found not guilty? Will you admit that he's possibly not a rapist, or will you just say that he bought his acquittal?

He could have ended this the first week with the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Is that what due process looks like? ;-)

If the information that is out there, turns out to be factual, this should never go to trial. If one were sitting on the jury, how out of this gobbledegook, could one send a man to jail for 20 yrs? Granted, Bryant should not have put himself in this position, but when she told him to stop, he stopped.(testimony by the lead detective in the pre-trial)

It would be pretty unusual, however, to come 'down' from a manic episode into a depression so quickly... between the incident and the filing of charges was just a day or two? A mixed state episode is not the same as a full-blown mania, it tends to make the sufferer more angry and hostile than anything, but not delusional.
Yes, I know what I'm talking about.

To: woodyinscc
I sure wouldn't want to be the one deciding if any or all of it is true.
And remember the detective testified that she never said she told him no until he went back and ASKED her the third time if she told him no.

This is exactly what Bill Clinton supporters said when Juanita Broaddrick accused him of rape. Uh, Juanita Broaddrick showed up at the hospital 12 hours later with another man's semen in her underwear?
I don't think so !

And that would include you. No, you have the teams wrong. I'm with the team that wants the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. The Perps are the visitors. They are on the other side.
To: Howlin
Is that what due process looks like? ;-) No, due process is the flawed means by which 100 perps get back on the street to rape, plunder, and murder so that 1 innocent is not mistakenly convicted.
Cheer a little louder.
To: af_vet_1981
I'm with the team that wants the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.Bull! He's convicted in your mind already. The only truth you want is the "truth" that validates your opinion.
End of story.
