I posted the article a couple of nights ago about Barbara and Jenna Bush. It's a hit piece from the word go, not only on the twins, but on their parents, especially Laura Bush. Here is the link
Laura's Girls

Here is the subtitle. Mrs. Bush Sought Privacy for Her Twins. They Had Their Own Idea About What to Do With It. Essentially Ann Gerhart's contention is that the Bushes have been much too indulgent with their daughters, that the twins have no sense of social or community responsibility, yada yada yada. And of course, Chelsea Clinton is portrayed as the perfect Presidential Child, who just loved and respected her Secret Service Agents. /rant

There is discussion about that book on the Dose tonight. The author was on FOX News (O'Reilly?) tonight and was apparently talking like she is a great fan of the Bush family when the book seems to be nothing but a hit-piece based on hearsay and innuendo.

Thanks. I'll have to go to the Dose and read the comments. I think the title of the book is cheap too "The Perfect Wife". I would never underestimate Laura Bush...

Thanks kay, I did. I have to go to the bookstore tomorrow morning, I will make sure the copies of the book are turned around or something. I'm in a mood to make mischief. And I'm off to bed. It's been a long week.

UNDERSTANDING CLARK -- Making Sense Of Clark's Conspiracy Theories (RNC Research)

Post# 51 has some interesting tidbits:

"Clark's new Arkansas press aide Jacoby quit her post as a reporter for the St. Petersburg Times to work for Clark; Jacoby's father, Jon Jacoby, is a good friend of Clark's, according to Spell, and knows him from Little Rock, where he is a director and executive of the Clinton-allied Stephens Group, Inc. and a senior executive at Stephens, Inc., the investment firm where Clark worked after returning to civilian life. Mary Jacoby has never worked on a political campaign before -- though she did once work as a file clerk at Hillary Clinton's Rose Law Firm, subject of the Whitewater investigation, according to 1996 reports -- and has extensive experience as a political reporter."

As I recall, Stephens Group, Inc. was where Dan Lassiter and Patsy Thommasson worked. You know Dan Lassiter. He was the main guy Roger Clinton retrieved cocaine for so Lassiter could use it to enhance his business deals. Gov. Clinton later gave Lassiter his 2nd Amendment rights back. Patsy Thomasson accompanied him on these trips, but was never prosecuted. She went on to run one of the major White House organizations (White House Office of Administration?). When we were listening to the Campaign Finance hearings and all of the oddities about John Huangs having a job at a bank and no one knew what he did, and his visiting the White House more than a hundred times in a year, and his then getting a job in the Commerce Department and getting waivers to the Security Clearance requirements and getting classified briefings...then going to a building across the street to fax things to the Chinese Embassy - I recall being stunned to learn that that other building was a Stephens, Inc office. Furthermore, Stephens, Inc. was being used to leave Huang secret messages, which they would call and inform him to come and pick up.

I seem to recall some articles about a general with ties to Clinton getting promoted from a NG position to an active duty General position in a really strange way via the aid of then-Gov. Clinton. As I recall, that was Clark. I wish I could find the old docs.

The Downside Legacy is full of information on Stephens and all the usual suspects, but I'm not familiar with an NG being made a General via a connection to Clinton while he was governor.

It is entirely possible that I have that piece mixed up with another General.

Not what I described above, but interesting.

Even Clark’s vaunted fourth star as a general was unearned, according to Robert Novak. It was twice rejected as undeserved by Pentagon brass, but then was awarded by his patron Bill Clinton after Clark begged the President for it.

“Clark,” wrote Novak, “is the perfect model of a 1990s political four-star general.” The Clintons love him. The troops he has commanded, by contrast, call him the “Ultimate Perfumed Prince.”

I've been doing some looking, too, and find no reference to him serving in the National Guard. There is a lot of interesting material about him though ... much of it not very complimentary.

Maybe some of our super-sleuths can find something on Saturday.

much of it not very complimentary.

The connections to Stephens, Inc. are bad enough when combined with his Clintonoid patronage.

I read enough to know that he is a man we definitely do NOT need in the White House ... for a lot of reasons. The incident over the airport in Kosovo alone is scary .... and his connection to Waco .... and some of the tales about how he advanced. And Hugh Shelton questioning his character and integrity .... and .... well, the list is quite long!

There is something very, very fishy when you read about him being a micro-manager throughout his military career and then he suddenly announces his candidacy for the presidency without even having a campaign manager or any staff .... or knowing what he wants to tell people about his life or what his position is on anything. This isn't something you just up and do on impulse like buying a pair of shoes, for heaven's sake!

Good morning.

Thank you, kayak, for always being there....and a lot of other places, too. I really appreciate you!

I'm back in the frozen tundra of NW Illinois for a couple weeks. Ugh. Yesterday's flight was uneventful, which is always a good thing.

IG.....Have you checked for your suit among hubby's clothes? ....Harkin endorsing Dean is very interesting. I'm surprised.
