We're probably both better off that we didn't win. Without a doubt it would create an entirely new set of problems.
It would be fun, though, to set up a bunch of Foundations to do charitable work. Something I would like to do, but it isn't in the cards just yet.

Good morning, thanks for starting.

Yes, it would be fun to do stuff like that. I thought about establishing scholarships in my dad's name and some other things.
And new carpet.

Good morning. Happy New Year friends. Thanks for starting the thread, Dog.
Our Mr. Coffee pot is broken.....the one that was sent to us by the company...because the one we bought was junk..... made lousy coffee and leaked all over the place....This new one is not even a year old.
We have our trusty perculator going.

Happy New Year everyone!
Just a quick post before I head to the kitchen to fix breakfast for Mrs. Rivendell and myself.
I want to wish each and everyone a happy, safe and blessed new year.
If you plan on watching the Rose Bowl Parade, and you get Home and Garden Television (HGTV), watch it there. They play it commercial free and actually discuss the plants and flowers used to make the floats. Always an enjoyable and entertaining experience without the usual blowhard commentators from the regular networks.
Have a wonderful day all!

ROTLFMAO....that is too funny..my coffee pot that broke yesterday is a Mr. Coffee too.
I remember buying that one exactly around this time last year.
I did the perc thing this morning too, but later today I have to get to Wallymart and get a new one.

Coffee pots and Toasters are not made the way they used to make them. There is a timer inside to make them self destruct in one year.
What is amazing to me is that Mr Coffee and the other coffee pot manufacturers cannot make a pot without a problem. If it doesn't leak from the bottom, the actual pot drips and leaks when you pour from it.
You cannot determine if you have a Non Dripping Carafe until you break open the box and use it and then the hassle of wrapping it up and returning it just isn't worth the bother since you know the perking mechanism will blow up in a year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!
Sorry I disappeared last night...but was caught up watching Edward Scissorhandss....it's just so quirky!
Lysie, Neets, I think my back is totally healed!!!...yay
We're having beautiful weather here on the east coast of Florida....balmy, just a nice tad cool....palm trees swaying in the slight breeze.
It's 'sittin on the porch' weather.
However, it wasn't much different in Texas.....very mild temps......just a light jacket needed.
I enjoyed the drive from Houston....lots of ranches with their very Texan names, and lots of cattle.....all spread out.
We went to our son's favorite barbecue place....Rudy's...which is basic barbecue and nothing else.....no frills, very minimal, but great barbecue.
We got Tex/Mex at Chuys....I felt a bit guilty going there, but there are 3 in town, and told myself it wasn't the one that was so rude to our President's daughters a couple years ago.
If it's as crowded and crazy as the one we went to, I don't know how anyone would know they were there.....a madhouse.....but great food!
Another thing we enjoyed....our son has his favorite places.....is the Lone Star Donut Shop....a mom & pop place.....and the donuts are incredible!!!!
Hubby is about to start the blackeye peas soon.....daughter & her hubby are bringing over turnip greens and we'll put mac & cheese and corn muffins with them.
Oh, by the way.....we saw Lord of the Rings..!!!!
Loved it!!!!!
I think we're going again this week.
Has anyone seen Cold Mountain...?
My dad wants to see it because it's Civil War.

I agree: 1 millisecond of Julian and my limit is reached.
LOL! That reminds me: talking over dinner with my nephews Tues. night, and the subject of Mansour Ijaz came up. None of know quite what to think of him...Do any of his predictions ever come true?????? We agreed he sounds so credible, but IS he REALLY??

Welcome home, Molly...
We had a Black and Decker spacesaver that lastest at least 10 years.
I'll be writing Mr. Coffee one more time. This time if they offer to replace I will decline.
