FR Has Offended Me
Roark
Posted on 12/22/2003 6:48:16 PM PST by RoarkMan
I am deeply offended. Just because I am a conservative I cannot believe that FR would assume that I am a Christian and "wish" me a "Merry Christmas" on the front page of the web-site. I am an atheist and I do not celebrate the birth of Jesus. FR should be open and accommodating to ALL of its members. Just because 99.9999% of the membership is Christian, it does not give FR the right to offend me, the minority. I intend to enlist a swarm of ACLU lawyers in order to bend the forum to accommodate me because, as I said, I am, deeply offended. Please cease your "Merry Christmas" message and replace with a more inclusive "Hi". Thank You.

The only "Swarm" allowed here is the Calvinist Swarm. No ACLU lawyers allowed. Sorry. Merry Christmas :>)

Heathen! The penalty for your dissention is death!
But I think your sentence can maybe be commuted to a merry Christmas, in light of the fact that you seemingly have a sense of humor. ;)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
To: RoarkMan
It still amazes me, though, that some people actually think like that. :-/

But what of my right to post without the tyranny of the majority? Without the being made to feel as if I am somehow...different.

You have no such right! Would you prefer to repent through disemboweling or repent by being burned at the stake?

Hate Speech! Hate Speech! See: once the majority gets its sense of superiority they lash out with violence.
I just wanted to belong. To join fellow conservatives with whom I could call "brother" (in a purely nondenominational way, of course).

Each and every one of us is different. It is how your differences are used to the greater good that makes the difference in lives. My greeting of Merry Christmas is meant to wish you good tidings. If you choose to be offended by good tidings, well, that is your choice. Christ made a difference in my life, and His presence, whether you feel it or not, has made a difference in your life, too. Merry Christmas, I say, to you and yours.

You are mistaken in your assumption that I am in the majority. The majority would not sanction such an activity on your part nor an attempt on my part to bring it about. Hence, I must be in the minority and therefore incapable of hate speech.

"I am an atheist and I do not celebrate the birth of Jesus."That's fine. You don't have to believe in God....or in Jesus who's Birth we will Celebrate shortly.
It's enough to know that They Believe in You.
Merry Christmas!!!!

You are bent. This place is mostly political and religion comes up less than, probably 10% of the time. You oughtta feel at home.

Happy Festivus?
To: RoarkMan
Each and every one of us has things that make us uncomfortable, feel left out, feel excluded. Yet, not many of us are trying to make others uncomfortable, left out or excluded just to get our will imposed at the expense of the many.
Merry Christmas and may you not in the least be harmed by this wish.
Oh, are you refusing all gifts, all time off to celebrate Christmas? Are you not buying gifts for any? Not attending any Christmas parties?
If not, you are a fraud merely trying to exercise power over the freedom of others who do not make you do anything.
