"Still I would about as soon have a .22lr as anything less than a 9mm.I see your point. 22's have their place, IMO. The good Dr's experience proves this; he might have left that little revolver where it was as an afterthought just because it was cheap. (I can't help but wonder if "someone" suggested it to him...) I gave my elderly dad my Taurus .22wmr revolver, and I'm toying with the idea of one of the little .22wmr revolvers from NAA, myself. "Have a gun..."

plenty about people being shot with a .25 in the arm and dying quickly.
Probably struck the bone and traveled up into the lung.
My best friend was shot in the elbow, he died in hospital, bullet had gone into his lung, EMTs didn't realize it, 9mm.

Oh, yeah, one other thing. The Dr. and his wife are devout Christians, denomination unknown. Someone had told me that his congregation was taking a collection to buy him a .357! LOL!

You must be from the school of folks who don't like a weapon that fires when you pull the trigger. I was responding to this and not your advantage, I understand that. But the "if it ain't a Glock you can't depend on it" just ain't true in all weapons. I'm glad you like your Glock, but their are others out there just a good.

Keltec P-32 is very light, small, and easily concealed without spoiling comfort. Take it to the mall, the movies, or wherever you might be lucky enough to get to gundown a terrorist.
Happy hunting! =) (*sarcasm*)

Oooooh, a gun thread! Cool...
My personal advice - and it is personal - is to own a variety of the little darlings and carefully evaluate the likely scenarios you will be facing before leaving home. Decide on the correct combination of punch and concealability. Then carry the next bigger one.
The real trick is to practice with them all.
Today I practiced with one of my carry pieces, a Kahr 9mm, and one of my warguns, (my baby, oh, yeah,) a .45ACP Kimber. Between these two guns the breaking point is at just about 20 meters - that's as far as a 2 1/2 inch barrel will give me A-zone hits reliably 100% of the time. Beyond that Mister Kimber is just warming up. The difference is another 2 1/2 inches of barrel and a lot of weight. But if you care enough to send the very best...
I am particularly fond of a Glock in .40 S&W, which bridges the gap nicely. I'd be perfectly happy with it in any tactical situation I'm likely to face between home and work. But if I had the time and the carry ability I'd still opt for the .45. Big and slow and strong and it doesn't overpenetrate. Your mileage may vary.
At home it's a 12 gauge Mossberg - the pistols are only if I can't walk around with a long gun. They'd freak at work - weenies. But around home it's the boss for any range I'm likely to need - 100 meters max with my personal load of alternating rounds of #4 buckshot and rifled slug. Anything more serious than that is a rifle, and that's another conversation.
Rifles...mmmmmmm....

If you get one of the mini revolvers you might as well just get it in .22lr and use shorts in it.
About 15 years ago, a friend of mine had a chronograph and we decided to test one of those with .22 and .22mag cylinders. I think it had a one inch barrel.
Of the 3 the short produced the highest velocity by a small margin and they were all three within a couple of foot pounds of the same energy.
Of course the mag might have killed someone by just the awesome blast.

Nice web page that she has there, BTW. I appreciate anybody that likes the 27 (and most people that don't)

Unfortunately I do not own a firearm "yet". I know, I know... it's almost more than a right, a duty. Better get one now, while you still can. If gun sales are suspended on a nationwide level, it will be a Homeland Security "emergency" that does it.

Glocks are not for everybody, but I am tired of people saying that they are for nobody.

I would say 30-06 but the .308/7.62 has the same ballistic signature. Plus my m-1a1 takes the 7.62.

stagger with what?Nothing serious - I stagger hollow points with flatpoints (the .40 equivalent of hardball). I haven't a clue if it is the best way to approach things, but it really isn't a bad thing.

I always thought the bigger bird shot would be a guaranteed hit and the buck shot would finish up if necessary...Yup. Worked for me in Honduras. Works for home defense, too. Although, very few home invaders can hear the action of a pump shotgun without being reduced to pi$$ covered jello.

Why not just use hollow points?
To: section9
Always gun, right front pants pocket - Taurus 85 Ti with 38 special +p nyclad hollow points.
Usual gun - Glock 34 on the hip with 9mm +p Silvertip hollow points
Car gun - S&W 625 .45 ACP with 4 moonclips of Silvertips and 10 of hardball.
Always Car rifle - Kel-Tec Sub 2000 with 9mm +p Silvertips (S2K and Glock have interchangeable magazines.
Car/House Shotgun - Remington Mdl 1100 Competition Master with 8 rounds of 00 buck in the magazine and rifled slugs in the carrier.
Yellow? Orange? It's all the same to me.

Been carrying one since the 90's and no problem. You must be from the school of folks who don't like a weapon that fires when you pull the trigger. If you are going to give advice like this please give details so we Glock owners can cut your argument to pieces. Been carrying a G30 for three years now. It's my preferred handgun of choice when TSHTF. And that, from a collection that includes Para-Ordnance and Wilson Combat 1911s and a Sig P245.
Glock -- when it absolutely, positively has to fire the first time, every time.
