Prayer request from FReeper trussell
I hate to ask for prayers for myself as I feel I am misusing my ping list, but things have gone from slightly bad to extremely bad.
I got laid off at work in October. I have been looking for work since.
I qualified for unemployment, but now they are saying that I was overpaid and I owe them the overpayment amount.
I got a call from the electric company; they are going to shut off my electric soon if I cant pay.
I told my babies that Christmas was going to be slim this year. They understand, but it hurts me to think I cant provide them a good Christmas.
Please keep us in your prayers.
Thank you, God Bless you, and Merry Christmas.

Where are you and what do you do for a living.....perhaps someone has work.
Prayers. If you were here I sure could use you around the house and help as I am recooperating from surgery and not feeling to good.
Thanks for your dilegence in pinging you have brought a lot of us together.
Celebrate Christmas by serving as a volenteer as an alternative we did that one year when money was tight and it meant a lot to the family.
Put prayer requests on the tree to Jesus. Just some suggestions.
Prayers going up that things turn around for you.
Can't allow the power to be shut off who would be our prayer pinger. : (
God Bless and Merry Christmas.

Trussell, my friend, my heart goes out for you and your family. I've had a few of these, including now and I do personally empathize. I've gotten so angry at commericials, all the merriment, for the media is what puts the pressure on us by commercializing Xmas.
So being I grew up right after the depression, in a large family with no dollars. I went back to that and thought what could I do.
It hurts , no doubt when there are children. But you know you love your kids 365 and so do they. I wish when mine were small there were dollar stores. But what we have used often is the note system. We either write IOU's or give the gift of ourselves to each person. My husband got his massage. My daughter I wrote a song for. My son I played silly Nintendo games, he knows I hate. Truly giving the gift of love teaches our kids what many families struggling know. So oft times, we can turn a sad, pressured time into a much needed lesson. Remember, sweetie, the Sunday funnies make great wrappping paper.
I will pray you find work soon Trussell and God Bless you and your family!

I forgot to tell you, call your electric company, gas etc. There are programs in every state that will pay part or all of your bill!!! Get on that like yesterday!

Prayers for you and your family. One suggestions, don't spend too much tine alone now. Visit a good, kind, understanding friend, get involved at a program at church, keep buys. It may seem senselessat this time, but try to volunteer if you can -- wrap gifts, etc. Doing for others is a big 'lift up' no matter how much you're down.God bless you.

Prayers Trussell! HE will provide.
Since you have young children, I can offer a suggestion for having PLENTY of presents to open Christmas Day!
Go to your Public Library a few days before Christmas. You can pick out books, videos, DVDs, puzzles and games. Around here, you can check the items out for 3 weeks (I'm not sure if it's the same in your area). Wrap them in the Sunday funny section and heap under the tree. The kids will enjoy!

I like your suggestion. Most of us wouldn't have thought of that one.

I am looking for clerical work. I have certificates in Business Fundamentals, Marketing, Accounting, and Payroll. I live in the SW corner of Colorado, in Cortez. Pinging just in case there is a Freeper out there from Cortez.

Thanks, though I can't take credit for the idea. I had a very wise girlfriend in a similar situation and she looks back on that Christmas as one of the most special because she made it through *and* pulled off the magical Christmas moment with the kids.

Joining in prayers you create a wonderful Christmas for your family. I see you are on the right track to make this Christmas one to remember without the dollars getting in the way. Have been there. Didn't leave any scars. I have such a loving and understanding family and think these rough moments are what gave us the opportunity to develope our skills in the area of the true meaning of Christmas.
