Nightfall was truly excreble. THE worst movie I've ever paid money to see.

"BTW, she was the one that "ate" the mouse, IIRC."

And don't forget what she did to the truck driver who gave her a lift!

The second installment just finished up here on the West coast. I see what you mean about the words of spirituality.

NOW HEAR THIS

Final report on SciFi’s Battlestar Galactica:

1. Production: Well done overall.

2. Story: Involving and entertaining. I hope that the series continues in some form.

3. Sex appeal: While attractive, neither of the two blondes on the show took the top spot. The hottest chick on the show was Grace Park, the actress who played Lieutenant Sharon Valleri (“Boomer”).

THAT IS ALL

and fact is Starbuck was a Man not a Woman.

Not a fact, its fiction! Get real! Some PC is good, its bad when it goes overboard. The original show was sexist and campy, it needed to be toned down for todays audiance. IMO to be realistic all of the fighter's should be RPV's or robots. Second to that all or nearly all pilots should be women. Men cannot hold up to G forces as well, but our culture does not raise women who are intrested in flying fighters.

"Wow. That was intense."

Amen. And part of what made it so tense was wondering who would be right; the people on this thread who were sure it would all be toally PC vs those who (like me) were still holding out hope that it would edgier. I was blown away.

And I must say, the idea of having the chip in Baldar's head so that he and we can see his protagonists is simply top shelf. Also, look at character conflicts vs STNG/STDSN/Voyager/Enterprise which have NONE. There are a few flaws, but based on Part II this show is far better than anything I've seen in awhile.

I'm not surprised. God knows what the hell happens to all Hispanics in the future, but I want to know what it is!

Seriously. I'm a total dork by the definitions given here (and Hispanic as well). I've watched virtually all sci-fi out there. And blacks have absolutely nothing to complain about in terms of their "place in the future". They are quite well represented. Apparently my family and everyone from every Spanish country is sure to completely die out between now and the 22nd century.

I haven't seen a single significant Spanish character in TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise, Babylon 5, Andromeda or -any- other future history. Now we don't exist in Battlestar Galactica either, even when the Captain is played by someone hispanic.

WHAT HAPPENS TO US IN THE FUTURE? I want to know! Would they not allow us to board the Enterprise because they thought we'd steal the hubcaps or something?

Fukai please pass the squid sauce

For some reason reminded of a name I saw every time they ran the credits for Cheers -- somebody named Fukyuto. Cracked me up every time.

Ah yes, I should mention that I did think this version of BG was quite well done. The PC and anti-humanism got on my nerves quite a bit, but it was still well-done overall. The chip in Balthar's head was very reminiscent of Farscape... kinda a ripoff actually, but hey, it -worked- very well in Farscape, and since the idiots at SciFi channel managed to cancel a fantastic show right at it's height, I guess it doesn't matter anymore if they borrow the idea now.

"The hottest chick on the show was Grace Park, the actress who played Lieutenant Sharon Valleri (“Boomer”). "

Yeah, when Stands With Head Up @ss says they need to start making babies I thinking, OK, who do I hook up with. Valleri was it by a long shot -- then we find out she's a Cylon.

Remember that the next time that you watch the dramatization of a terrorist act or a war and call it entertaining.

Bullsh!t. There is a remarkable difference between telling a story and having plot elements pertinent to that story vs throwing in random, pointless outrages without which the plot is no different.

When a writer throws something like that into a story, it is no longer art, it is perversion.

When I visit my inlaws, they invariably sit through hours and hours of outrage and deeply disturbing images and situations that are apparently a routine part of television anymore. That isn't telling a story worth hearing, of the triumph of good over evil, it is telling the story that evil is far more pervasive than it really is.

It isn't the work of artists, it is the product of psychopaths, child molesters, and diabolically evil people sharing their sick fantasies over the airwaves.

Anyone who can dial in week after week to women and children being tortured, raped, and killed by psychos and call it entertaining needs a serious head check.

He was a pacifist in the original as well. "The Cylons want peace as well," were a few of his last words before he was blown out of the stars by the Cylons.

Yup that's what I mean - at the end of his career, Lew Ayres took a role that in effect repudiated everything he stood for.

Hmmmmm, sort of like the 8 of the 9 Dwarves were saying about Al Gore yesterday. :)

If it makes you feel better, I just checked the LDS (Mormon) Family Search website and the surname Adama is recorded in Mexico at least as long ago as 1775.

There were also many in the Netherlands. Coincidence, or a remnant of the old Spanish Netherlands?

Hispanics in the future

How can Hispanics have a future when this isn't even a race? Hispanics are white, black, and indian. From pure blood to mostly a mix of some or all. I knew all white Cubans who hated the term. Cubans are mostly either white or a mix of white and black. Mexicans are either white, indian, or mostly a mix. Some parts of South America have a lot of people with French heritage. So you can bet the term Hispanic dies in the future.
