Tonight in Wellington, the third in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Return Of The King will take over the city for its world premiere.
The Fellowship's journey will end. It also will be the end for a longer journey for the Trilogy's genius director Peter Jackson, whose vision seven years ago realised the concept of shooting the three films simultaneously and saw the first two movies become smash hits at box offices around the world.
If Return Of The King lives up to expectations it is estimated it will make for New Line Studio a staggering $5 billion from the three films.
After an exclusive preview of the movie, it is obvious the end of the journey will satisfy the hundreds of millions of Rings fans around the world.
Clocking in close to 200 minutes, Jackson has done what seemed impossible - topped his previous two outings in spectacle and emotional levels.
He reveals the creation of Gollum and also takes Elijah Wood, as Frodo, to the dramatic end of his journey to return The Ring, juxtaposed with the spectacular and fierce journey of Vigo Mortensen, as brave warrior Aragorn, who is destined to be king. It is an epic like no other and with a character different from the previous two.
The advancement of computer-generated visual effects delivers breathtaking scenes of sweeping battles and sensational clashes of extraordinary scope and thunderous, pulsating action.
Yet the characters are not overwhelmed and the emotional resonance of the journey and characters is sustained.
This time around, Sean Astin, as Sam has a larger key role and with Wood, is called on to reach emotional levels not seen in the earlier films.
It is a stunning landmark in movie story-telling, which enthrals, involves and captivates. It surely will be in line waiting for much Oscar gold come February.
Yesterday, Jackson said he had been lucky enough to work with some of the most talented cast and crew any filmmaker could wish for.
"I am happy to let these films go off into the world and for them to become whatever this generation, or future generations make of them, " he said.
Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Liv Tyler, Viggo Mortensen and Sean Astin from Hollywood and Sir Ian McKellen, Billy Boyd and John Rhys-Davies from the UK, will join Australia's David Wenham, Radha Mitchell, Kasey Chambers and Chris Joannou, of Silverchair, in the street parade in Wellington.

"...Sam turned to Bywater, and so came back up the Hill, as day was ending once more. And he went on, and there was yellow light, and fire within; and the evening meal was ready, and he was expected. And Rose drew him in, and set him in his chair, and put little Elanor upon his lap.He drew a deep breath. 'Well, I'm back,' he said."
