I believe that there have been windows broken out of buildings, and that a clocktower in paso Robles has collapsed, and maybe trapped some people. Also, there may be some historic buildings damaged. I'd have to go back over to the thread and see if there are any more reports. That's certainly big enough to do significant damage.

Epicenter doesn't appear to be near any large population centers, but there are many small towns in the area - Paso Robles, Avila, Cambria among others. I don't know where this photo was taken. It's posted on the Drudge report.
