Plausible, I saw a thread where something like 7 of the last 8 major attacks were on Tuesday.

I always took the early week attack at increasing the stress on the civilian population that knows they still have days to go before the weekend.

They gain nothing attacking on a Friday or weekend.

this is true, but you would think they would have followed up afterwards. they must have had fake uniforms and airline credentials, and must have been recorded on airport videos someplace.

Ok for those of you here who think this is total bunk, that's fine and maybe your right. But there are those of us who have/are/will treat every threat as a real possibility.

None of us are going crazy, acting like this will be our last day on earth, or screaming that the sky is falling.

We know/believe that there is a high probability we will be attacked again and instead of walking around like everything is fine and they wouldn't dare hit us again we have decided to make sure we are ready for it mentally.

If nothing happens, then great it was propaganda pure and simple or our forces were able to stop it. But if it does happen then at least we were ready to deal with the shocking reality.

you're right on target. (no pun intended)

Broadcast messages such as these will have little to do with the specifics of the operation. The most they might connote would be a green light / red light condition immediately before a launch.

However, even that is questionable, because it would still be simpler and more covert for the planenrs to simply pick up a phone to each one of the cell leaders and merely say

"the laundry is ready for pick-up" or "the laundry is delayed 24 hours" etc etc.

If this was to be used for psychological operations then it would be far more effective to actually name the place and time. That would cause havoc.

When the attack did not occur then a follow up brodcast could simply say that the attack was thwarted due to excess security and it will be rescheduled.

Doing that type of thing several times would definitely create terror, without the death.

This note sounds like a hoax, or a very amateur and incompetent terrorist organization.

All the newsdealers (mostly Muslims) are still at their posts. There do seem to be fewer trash cans around, however (security measure). I thought of checking out the bus terminal . . .

Oh, and there are armies and armies of tourists here--people who made the Marathon into a longer vacation? Guess the story has not gone at all mainstream.

It would seem to me that if a lot were fleeing that would let us know how real this is.

Tens of thousands of cars drive in and out of cities every day...not to mention all the trains , planes and busses. How would anyone know if muslims were fleeing? You might notice it once they were gone and there was nobody to drive the cabs or pump your gas or work the counter at the WaWa...but otherwise, how would you know?
