~The Dragon Flies' Lair IV~

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Oh, thanks. It came to mind while
joking around with my brother
(Darksheare). I don't normally
write stories, I generally stick to
my poetry instead. But I just couldn't
resist taking a small swipe at Spears.

When they all speak of love
Simple words not from above

Here is something yet unheard
More to love than just a word

I choose not a place of highness
My preferance is not the dryness

A simple drink is what I require
That great oasis of my desire

If you have not roamed a desert
You will never know my hurt

If you have not roamed a desert
You will never know my hurt

There are many types of deserts dry
I have seen with one eye and walked
the cracked dry earth and thirsted
for a drop of truth from the tongues
of man liars all it seemed then

Before reading this story, you should
understand the weapon I imagined was an
inflatable squeaky hammer...

... She finally realized he was quite a
problem, a problem that wasn't going away.
Why did she marry him anyway? Ah, yes, the
money... of course. The poor boy, he had no
idea what she had in store for him. She was
leering at him intently. His misguided response
was a lazy, vacant smile. Oh, how she hated.... no
loathed THAT smile. She watched him like a hawk
as he walked up the stairs to the bedroom. Now
was her chance. Quietly, stealthily she ascended
the stairs after him. Peering in, she saw his back
turned to her..... perfect. He'd never see her
coming. Slowly she crept up behind him. He
turned, unexpectedly, in time to see her lunge
at him. She obviously caught him off guard, for
he fell to the bed with no resistence. Raising
the hammer she had bought just for him, she
rapped him upside his head as hard as she possibly
could. He gave one bloodcurdling shriek, then fell
into eternal silence. The new, filthy rich widow's
problem had been solved, or should I say extinguished.

Think on this when you read
I plant out my verbal seed

Only words which often fail
Still I am going to assail

Those that will lie to me
Abusing us all and Liberty

Can you see the metaphor
Must I spell the allegore

I was dry and I've known thirst
The words they come to stop a burst

I write of water and of sand
Only because I do demand

Attention from certain ones
Nomads who would deny creation

And real beauty

They come from every place around
Ignorance of the center does abound

This reminds me of a Twilight Zone Episode I saw years ago. A young woman and an older man. She knocked out his lights with a frozen leg of lamb.
Then roasted the thing and fed it to the cops.

Ugh what a Black Widow.

Heh, well a frozen lamb leg would probably
do more damage than a squeaky hammer, but
without keeping in mind that's the weapon I
was actually thinking of, it does sound very
similar. I decided to omit the squeaky from
the hammer in the story, 'cause I wasn't sure
if anyone would understand or appreciate the
twisted humor of it.

I would not deny your
right to write to

assail the wrongs
you see

to speak of outrage
to me with
the written word

as I sing my songs
to all to be heard

when at a time
I had no voice

to cry against
the vice

In the drought
of wordless worlds
living a daze of swirls
my desert of dry
alone to cry, yes
I know it well...

I know, using a squeaky hammer would
require quite a beating to even leave
a red mark, let alone cause death, but
it's still funny to imagine such a beating.
*WHACK! squeaky WHACK! squeaky*

Song of the center
I shall loudly enter

If you comprehend the veil
You might perceive this tale

There is yes a place of course
I refer to primary source

All things come from there
Not just words strung on air

Have you contemplated Light
So much more than a sight

Can you see why the bird does sing
It is surely such a simple thing

Want to know the root of my travail
Learn the secret of the veil

Here is a special clue
Remember the desert

Learn, of the tabernacle
In the wilderness

This is part of my know
But, I have a little more

I don't come here to show
I know more than a door

I do!

Look it up!

The Pit

A man fell into a pit and couldn't get himself out.

A subjective person came along and said, "I feel for you down there."

An objective person walked by and said, "It's logical that someonewould fall down there."

A Pharisee said, "Only bad people fall into pits."

A mathematician calculated how he fell into the pit.

A news reporter wanted the exclusive story on the pit.

An IRS agent asked if he was paying taxes on the pit.

A self-pitying person said, "You haven't seen anything until you'veseem my pit."

A fire-and-brimstone preacher said, "You deserve your pit."

A Christian Scientist observed, "The pit is just in your mind."

A psychologist noted, "Your mother and father are to blame for your being in that pit."

A self-esteem therapist said, "Believe in yourself and you can get out of that pit."

An optimist said, "Things could be worse."

A pessimist claimed, "Things will get worse."

A Good Samaritan, seeing the man, took him by the hand and lifted him out of the pit.
