Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

Report: New York Must Keep Focus On Anti-Terror

Albany - A digital attack that cripples computers. A biological pathogen that overwhelms the state's hospitals. Contaminated food that sets off a mad cow-like scare. All are potential terrorist threats highlighted in a State Senate report to be released today that says New York State must do more to improve homeland security, be it in the city, Long Island or its Canadian border.

The report, by a Republican-led committee chaired by Sen. Michael Balboni (R-East Williston), identifies computer networks, agriculture, hospitals and international borders as particularly exposed targets, making about 30 recommendations for possible legislation.

While most of the report deals with statewide concerns, it includes a section on Long Island's preparedness, noting that due to its unique geography and population density, evacuation is impossible, and families need to be self-sufficient while "sheltering in place."

I do not consider it impossible that we can uncover plan specifics in time to thwart a WMD attack, if such an attack is planned/ever planned. I also do not consider it impossible that we may not be able to thwart such a plan. Plainly, I am on the fence. Yet I know the U.S. and our current, true allies ;) are working hard to stop all attacks, and I suppose that is all we can do at most.

I wouldn't go that far, he may not want to be at orange during the SOTU. they can lower the alert level while still doing the same things domestically that have been going on for the last several weeks: increased airplane security, NEST teams, etc. all I am saying is: don't discount the political calculations here.

FWIW

I live in a small upstate NY town 3 miles from the Lake Ontario lakeshore, 50 miles from the Border, 15 miles from 3 nuke plants. My daughter works at a restaraunt in town and tonight on here shift 6 Border Patrol agents stopped in throughout the shift. Never ever see them in town.
Also she said something about train police. Never heard of them before. A spur that runs to Massena on the border from the south runs through town, and right behind my house. Many chemicals transport on that line along with a lot of bauxite and aluminum ingots that travel along the two Alcoa plants on its path.
She is all upset . I just told her with an orange alert the security around here being so close to Canada and the three nuke plants is probably sky high even if there is no specific threat. To myself however I think it seems strange. Also would be strange to take the alert down so soon with so large a presence it this area now.

Actually, I think the odds are VERY high that they have at least suitcase, and possibly larger nukes.

Donna Lee - if they DO have nukes, it is quite possible that they are waiting to use them at a time that would have maximum impact - politically and economically.

There's also more - MUCH more - if you consider that we're not dealing with AQ as a bunch of crazy Islamic radicals, but actually proxies for another nation state (eg: Russia or China). I read an article on this earlier (will post in a few min if I can find it) that put all of this in an entirely new - and absolutely terrifying - light. And, if what I read is indeed the case - there is a very good and logical reason that they haven't pushed the big red button - YET.
