Want some eye-opening information? Search Google for REX 84.

I chose the wrong time to check this out! I was just getting ready to go to bed. LOL! I'm suddenly not as sleepy. Good find, I must say. I'm sure I'm not the only one who didn't know about this.

My family has had plans in place for some time. I rounded everyone up during the summer and laid out the plan. Many thought I was just being my usual wierd self, but since then pretty much all are believers.

Those in NYC refuse to leave, but should something occur, they will try to meet and come up to my house in rural RI by back roads, previously planned.

The majority of my family still lives around here and will all come here. My house will hold thirty or more easily.

The Florida contingent has been organized as well and are prepared to meet at grandparents place which is fairly remote. Some wanted to gather at our place on Longboat key, because it is a gated and secure place, but I convinced them that it was a likely target.

Here we have stores of food, a generator and a well. We are far enough away from things that I don't believe we would be affected, other than potentially the loss of grid service and (the horror!) internet. We are also "well regulated" from a certain standpoint.

I'm more concerned about the Floridians since they are largely elders. My daughter and my brother-in-law would have their hands full.

I would recommend everyone have a family/friend gathering and at least start the discussion.

This sh!t is not going to go away for a while and if I know anything about life, it will get worse before it gets better.

The Norwalk Virus is still active on the cruise ships, I get the Promed report and it has only been a week or so since there was an outbreak on a couple of ships, Hawaii and Australia I think. I have always thought that they were deliberate. One of the last ones was 800 people, they no longer give the reports on the news, but it is very active.

Oh my...had no idea NV was still active on cruise ships. Thanks for the update. Have cruise ships in previous years been so vulnerable & has NV been very active before this past year (on ship or on land)? I've wondered about whether outbreaks were deliberate, also....

All true. I wondered the same thing about Hitchens and who he knows. I found out myself via Drudge through an advance leak about an article in Newsweek or Time, I think.

I have never heard that Rudy vacated Manhattan back then. Do you know if his whereabouts were ever confirmed during that nuke threat in 2001? Rudy's the strong, respectable type who would go down with the ship, IMO.

Recent Intel intercept says Al Qaeda plans a massive attack on all US cities. Al Qaeda will drop stink bombs from skyscrapers driving the people of those cities to flee and cause a work stoppage. The damage to our economy will be devastating.

Here is a BUMP for Sean's earlier post copied below; can anyone provide such info from the financial markets?

To: All

Is there anyone here who can research, or even better, confirm the futures or puts on GOLD prices for the first week or so of February???

Such info could be a HUGE indicator and of major importance.

Thanks in advance.

>>>>I lived in San Diego, even during the Nam war, we were not allowed to remove our kids from school if there was an attack.

We were sent home notices months ago about the schools going into lock down. Had to send in supplies for 3 days, ie., clothes, etc.

I really don't think any of the parents knew what that meant and I think they don't realize that it is still a current concern.

>>>What makes you think there would be a lock down of 'all major cities' if we 'lost a major city'? What purpose would that serve?

That is what will happen if and when we go to Red. NJ and NY was locked down during 9/11. I am amazed at how much really wasn't reported. We had police in riot gear on all the streets by me. And I'm in NJ.

I couldn't be on the street with my car. Only emergency vehicles were aloud.

>>>What makes you think the US even has the resources and manpower to 'lock down' all major US cities- at least in any effective way, even assuming there was some logical reason to 'lock down' cities in the first place?

Martial law. We already have notices that we won't even be able to pick up our children from school. They had to implement a POA on where the children will be relocated to. We, as parents, don't even know where that location is.

Martial law, is not a threat. It will only be temporary and is necessary to maintain control of the people that are going to panic.

A bit "off topic", but has anyone heard of anything happening at DIA (Denver Airport) right now? My husband and son just called from there (waiting to board a flight to Chicago) wanting to know if there has been anything on the news regarding all the fire trucks and emergency response vehicles on the runways. They were seeing this from the United terminal. If anyone knows anything, please let me hear from you. FR seems to be the "go to" place for breaking news.

Terrorism experts: Al-Qaida linked groups training, recruiting for attacks that are bin Laden's `greatest achievement'

By YEOH EN-LAI
The Associated Press
1/7/04 9:40 AM

SINGAPORE (AP) -- Al-Qaida-linked groups are training and recruiting militants to carry out suicide attacks that have become Osama bin Laden's "greatest achievement" as his brand of extremist Islam spreads around the world, a terrorism expert said Wednesday.

The greatest threats include Al Ansar Al Islami in Iraq, Jemaah Islamiyah in Southeast Asia, Al Ansar Mujahidin in Chechnya, the Taliban in Afghanistan and the Salafi Group for Call and Combat in Algeria, Rohan Gunaratna told a Southeast Asian outlook forum.

Gunaratna said a fresh batch of Jemaah Islamiyah terrorists will graduate Jan. 15 from a camp in the southern Philippines. Based in Indonesia, Jemaah Islamiyah is an al-Qaida funded regional group believed responsible for the 2002 Bali nightclub bombings that killed 202 people, among other terrorist attacks in the region.

The camp is run by the secessionist Moro Islamic Liberation Front, or MILF, which is fighting for an independent Muslim homeland in Mindanao, Gunaratna said. He did not elaborate on the number of graduates or where he got his information, but Indonesia intelligence has also said there's a recruiting drive for the group, thought to have about 3,000 members.

Sidney Jones, the Indonesian project director for the Brussels-based International Crisis Group, supported Gunaratna's assessment on the Philippines being a Jemaah Islamiyah training ground.

"There are several MILFs, all using the same name," Jones said, adding that these factions were not the same as the group now conducting peace negotiations with Manila.

Despite the arrest of Jemaah Islamiyah's alleged operations chief Hambali in Thailand last year, Jones said there were a number of key group operatives still at large, including Azahari Husin and Nordin Mohamed Top. The two men are accused of planning the Bali bombings.

Gunaratna, author of "Inside al-Qaida: Global Network of Terror," said the bulk of the terrorist attacks expected in 2004 will come from these groups -- trained and financed by bin Laden and not the network itself.

"Small, disparate organizations mounting operations are in many ways Osama bin Laden's greatest achievement," said Gunaratna.

Before the Sept. 11, 2001 strikes in the United States, the al-Qaida network launched an attack every two years; since then, there has been one al-Qaida-linked attack every three months, Gunaratna noted.

He predicted that pace will continue through this year, with the growing threats coming from the smaller, regional terrorist organizations.

"As the memory of 9/11 recedes, the West is likely to witness another mass casualty attack on Western soil," Gunaratna said.

In a paper presented at the forum, he said: "The threat of terrorism and its associated groups will persist throughout 2004."

Maritime targets are vulnerable to attack, he said, adding "almost all the attacks will be suicide vehicle bombings, an al-Qaida hallmark."

If left unchecked, Iran could emerge as a training ground for al-Qaida terrorists, Gunaratna predicted.
