The Norwalk Virus is still active on the cruise ships, I get the Promed report and it has only been a week or so since there was an outbreak on a couple of ships, Hawaii and Australia I think. I have always thought that they were deliberate. One of the last ones was 800 people, they no longer give the reports on the news, but it is very active.

Oh my...had no idea NV was still active on cruise ships. Thanks for the update. Have cruise ships in previous years been so vulnerable & has NV been very active before this past year (on ship or on land)? I've wondered about whether outbreaks were deliberate, also....

I don't recall having heard of a cruise ship getting sick before 9-11.

I started picking up groups getting sick about four years ago, a group of 500 at a company picnic got about the same as the Norovirus. In New Jersey as I recall. ( I didn't have the Internet then, so had only the radio reports).

It struck me as odd, as I have been to a lot of buffets and didn't eat the same food as the person next to me. It would take some effort to make the whole group sick.

It does not seem to me that the person on the street gets it, but only in large groups.

The Hepatitis outbreak from the green onions, is another example, there was another outbreak, since the one with the mexican food, not connected, at first report.

Promed reported that the onions never showed the germs, but that the water the onions were washed at on the farm, was "not stored in a proper tank", it is strange that the Hepatitis germ was only found in the sick people and not on the food.

There was one casino in Reno, Nv that had norovirus last year.

Alarm bells go off for me, when I hear of a disease that hits only people who are in a large group, having expensive fun.

All the old diseases are still going around the world.

I don't have room to save the Promeds on my old computer and can't figure out how that I can post them here, as I can't download and then get them back off this computer, so would have to forward a copy to anyone who wants the info from it, by regular e-mail.
