[history]
Monday, November 3, 2003
A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.
The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?
The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.
Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.
DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.
Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

WIdely rumored that U.S. satellites have the ability to detect emissions of fission/fusion weapons on the ground.
Rumor?
How about how far would the radiation travel and what distance in geography would be uninhabitable?

That's nice. Now Musharraf has major worries that AQ does not effect a "regime change" upon him. Two attempts in twelve days is not a good sign.
Just removing him is not the ultimate AQ objective. The real objective is effective AQ control of Pakistani nuclear weapons.

"America has such amazing scientific and technological ability, I would think that there is SOME solution to keep the bad guys out."
Not when Mexican consuls in Arab coutries are handing out Mexican passports like free taco's at a fiesta.
At least 200 Arab's illegally entered the US from Mexico in this fashion in the past two years.
Given al-Qaeda's penchant for small 5-man terrorist teams the Mexican government is responsible for allowing the equivilent 40 Terrorist Teams into the USA.
9/11 was achieved with only 4 of these kind of terrorist teams.
Okalhoma City had perhaps 2 teams.
WTC '1993 had perhaps 3 teams.
How's that for perspective.

I would expect nothing less from the jihadist composers of that image.
Osama is their log-awaited "Mahdi" after all.
And besides, Osama's choppers are not a key ingredient in the image.
The "frogman" is, and the association of "water" or "waterborne" assault is.

I'm glad to see the Mexico Flight info is out over the AP too. Thanks.

What is its significance? [re: "the cattle"] "The Cattle" is the name of a chapter in the Qu'ran that deals with the struggle between Islam and the "unbelievers". I think the title comes from how Islam thinks of unbelievers: as cattle to be kept around as long as you can milk them, then slaughtered.

People like this should NEVER be allowed to fly again and have their driver licenses taken away.

The real objective is effective AQ control of Pakistani nuclear weapons.A) There's plenty of plausible speculation that AQ already has nukes, much on that topic has been linked and posted in this thread.
B) Surely AQ doesn't believe it could ever get successful access to Pakistan's strategic nukes. India, Israel, the US, and probably others would simply not let that happen under any conceivable circumstances.
C) AQ does need a friendly operational base. Pakistan already serves in that fashion but AQ is probably cowed by the number and intensity of foreign intelligence operatives there. They'd like a more sympathetic government to throttle the intelligence ops against them.
