Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

Monday, November 3, 2003

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

They're starting to eat their own? Do they lust for human blood so badly they'll kill their own neighbors?

"RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Police battled militants in the streets of the holy city of Mecca on Monday, killing two of the suspects and uncovering a large cache of weapons, the state news agency reported.
The raid on two buildings in Mecca's al-Share'a neighborhood foiled a terrorist operation "that did not respect the sanctity of holy places and the month of Ramadan (search)" — the holy month of fasting that began days ago, an Interior Minister was quoted as saying by the Saudi Press Agency. "

I wasn't aware that most "journalists" cared anymore about journalistic integrity. ;)

Debka talks about intelligence and opinions and real things in the same way that the talking heads on every network do. They are not a broadsheet like the old gray lady or the washington post (and we know the standards they employ for factul news, don't we?)

Debka is not a news outlet in the common sense of that term because they are not reporting the same type of "news"; Debka is more like a web version of a talking heads/opinion show with a variety of experts who talk about what has happened, what will happen and what may happen. Debka follows Israel's and the U.S.'s wars on terror, complex and fast-changing subjects with real facts sometimes denied by authorities for political and operational purposes. If more folks viewed Debka the way they are, there wouldn't be too many protestors IMHO.

"You still don't understand the Left. If there's another attack, they'll blame it on Bush."

I left out one thing - the Left will blame Bush for any future terrorist attacks, even if he's no longer President, just as they blamed him for the economic downturn - "Bush is talking-down the economy" - BEFORE he was even elected.

Japan lost their stomach for war after Nagasaki (or was it Hiroshima). One non denominational nuke detonated on our soil with the promise of more if we do not cease and desist would stop us cold in our tracks.

The irony is, our economy is really on the go. Another attack would set us back tremendously. And I think AQ knows this.

They let him go??

Isn't this a guy they caught red handed starting a fire?

Different guy, apparently. The guy they caught trying to set fire in the Angeles National Forest was named Armouchian (sp?), and he was from Pasadena.

The two guys seen throwing burning objects from a white van in San Bernadio are still at large, so far as I know. One of them was the supect in the sketch I posted.

Please show me where any of the Debka critics have praised the Washington ComPost. That particular strawman argument sure is getting threadbare from overuse.

Debka is not a news outlet in the common sense of that term because they are not reporting the same type of "news"; Debka is more like a web version of a talking heads/opinion show with a variety of experts who talk about what has happened, what will happen and what may happen.

Wrong. Debka states many articles as fact. And we have often either debunked some of those "facts" as out-and-out lies, or demonstrated how they make no sense at all, or that Debka was leaping to concret conclusions from data that could point in many other directions.

Debka follows Israel's and the U.S.'s wars on terror, complex and fast-changing subjects with real facts sometimes denied by authorities for political and operational purposes. If more folks viewed Debka the way they are, there wouldn't be too many protestors IMHO.

Oh, we do view them they way they are. Just as I view the cow pies in the pasture next door to my house for exactly what they are, and for the exact same reason.

"Sorry for the post stutter; only hit the post button once though, I swear."

Sometimes there's such a long delay between hitting the "post" button and the message actually posting that I either (1) forget whether I hit the button, and therefore hit it again; or (2) assume there was a malfunction and hit it again. Not saying that's what happened in your case . . .

They hit us on 9-11 without any public warnings

See my #259...there were several public warnings/threats in the Arab world.

Just about to hit 10K and 2K on the DOW and NDX. I am shorting the DOW trying to preserve my 401K gains this year and taking a beating. But I learned 3 years ago not to get shook out of my convictions. I had a company called VerticalNet shorted at like 200 something and got squeezed a few days before the start of the great dotcom crash. It's trading for pennies now. I am holding my short until the second eclipse date passes.

My first thought too. I wonder if the FBI is able to track their movements in sufficient numbers to draw any conclusions? Or, if there's a method to track absenteeism from work etc.

Did they make a direct threat to the US about 9-11? This is what I question now because AQ seems much more afront to telling us what they are going to do *now*. Before 9-11, their warnings were oblique to say the least.

well, we could just wipe out entire countries. Make it a TRUE WAR against Islam. And, since "places" are so important to them, well they would just be history.

Mutually Assured Destruction.

But, we have what, 20,000 nukes, and you are worried about 2 or 3 that "they" MIGHT have???

Just rub them out, and end the war.
