Kitty Thread XXVI - Morning Stretching Exercise (Humor/Meow Alerts)
27 October 2003 | PetroniDE

Good Morning Kitty Freepers.
Rise and Shine for another Monday

Most of us had one extra hour sleep this weekend, so no excuse for being sluggish out of bed. For those of you living in states/counties that didn't turn your clocks back, get up and shine anyway.

Freeper science_diet has found at least one kitty that is willing to help. Just "do as the kitty does" for five minutes of stretching and y'all should be ready to go.

I really, really wish I had a scanner. BEANIE is going to be 12 on Friday and she is such a beauty. She's barely 7 pounds and is a black and white DSH. She still looks like a youngster. My favorite thing to nuzzle is her front paws, they're the whitest white and oh so delicate. Oh, well - Happy Birthday old lady! You're my favorite (but don't tell Mickey and the kitten... or the dogs... or the ducks... or the goldfish... )

Beanie's brother Rocky, who never got to go out on his birthday because he was pure black and mysteriously disappeard at age 8 used to love the newspaper. But only when I was reading it. I'd be stretched out on the floor with the paper or a book in front of me and he would plop his 13 pound carcass right in the middle of whichever article I was perusing. Cats are so smart.

****What is it about cats and paper? ****

Every so often, we put a small piece of paper on the floor and just sit back to see how long it will take one of our two cats to come along and sit on it. It never fails. Why? Why? WHY? We have all sorts of comfy spots for them to sit, but they can't resist sitting on a piece of paper. In fact, one of them will knock any small bit of paper off the coffee table just so that she can sit on it.

One of the mysteries of cats, I guess. The other one is why does a cat sit and stare unblinkingly at a wall when there is NOTHING on it?

Oh, my. Make that cat a longhair and it would be a twin for my dearly departed P-Bear. Beautiful kitty!

Your error is in thinking that the paper is actually ....paper. It's not, it's a 'cat locator'. Cats use them to know where to sit or lie down. :)

On the other hand, a third cat doesn't have any stamina at all.

We don't have a tree anymore for that very reason. Our oldest kitty attacked that think like it was made of tuna. I still put up a ton of decorations and lights, just no tree.

I can't even imagine what our other cat (she came post-tree) would do to a poor defenseless Christmas tree. We bought them those cheap little furry mice with feather tails from Petsmart. She took it, ran with it, hid under the table and hissed at us if we came near her! She thought she had a real mouse. We don't have mice, but I don't think we would ever have to worry about them becoming a problem with her around!

LOL! My kitty Priscilla was carrying her toy mouse around in her mouth this weekend, growling at everyone. A mighty hunter indeed!
