Your error is in thinking that the paper is actually ....paper. It's not, it's a 'cat locator'. Cats use them to know where to sit or lie down. :)

LOL! A "cat locator"!! I wonder if photographers use little slips of paper in a row to get those shots of a bunch of cats sitting in a neat row looking at the camera.
