U.S. — The state of California has officially annexed the state formerly known as Texas.
Texas has flown six different flags over the years, going from Spanish to French to Mexican rule before becoming an independent nation. After a stint of secession during the Civil War, Texas has been part of the U.S. as the Lone Star State for over 150 years. That chapter came to a close last night.
"Welcome to California," announced Governor Gavin Newsom, as the California flag was raised over the Capitol in Austin. "You're going to love it here. Just look at what has become of California over the past decades. This is what's in store for all of you lucky people."
The annexation was reportedly accomplished without a single shot being fired, thanks to a years-long operation involving thousands of U-Hauls. "We thought they were refugees," said longtime Texas resident Dale Patterson. "By the time we figured out it was an invasion, it was too late."
Newsom assured Texans that their cherished traditions would be preserved, with barbecue restaurants permitted to resume smoking brisket as soon as a nine-year environmental review could be completed. Residents were also informed that their beloved slogan "Come and Take It" would now apply to their paychecks.
At publishing time, Californians had begun fleeing Texas.

Will non-transed or non muzzies get deported?
Thanks Abbot.
You mean thanks Dumbya, Perry and Abbott.
The Islamification of Texas all happened on their watch. Can’t blame the Democrats for that.
We got that too.
Shouldn’t that be the People’s Republic of California?
Come on, Babylon Bee. I love ya. But try to get the names right.

Sorry to sound dumb, but what is that?
Is that real? If so, the Lord God will not be mocked. A hard rain is going to fall equally on the just and unjust.
Some Augustine on Wednesday afternoon is always welcome.
It looks like the Democrats will take over both houses of the Arizona legislature, giving us a communist corridor from the Pacific Ocean to the Red and Sabine Rivers, as New Mexico is a one party Democratic state as well.
We can’t get the Ten Commandments up because “don’t murder” offends someone, but we can get the 60 foot divine monkey pagan idol. What happened to “don’t mess with Texas,” Mr Abbot?
Where is the satire?
Soon to bee headline: Trump renames state — Texifornia.
Musk must be feeling like a wanted man.
One of the weirdest things happening now here in Texas is that ever since about 9pm last night, we are being bombarded with radio ads from the California governor’s office explaining why businesses should relocate to California.
it is quite humiliating actually.
I am quite serious about this.
Actually California and Texas have been re-annexed by Mexico.
In case you hadn’t noticed, two of the biggest states in the American union now have Mexican governors.
You can’t say that they are “American” in any way other then they live here. So what nation do you think they are loyal to?
555 years ago the most popular bumper sticker in COLORADO was...”DON’T CALIFORNIACATE COLORADO!”
Well, it has been and BAD!
Then they moved in on New Mexico. So californicated it is no longer the State I was born in and hoped to retire in.
Now it is TEXAS! CALIFORNICATED beyond hope.
I always thought California was like a large pustule. When it explodes it spews it’s infection into every other cell (STATE) and infects it beyond hope who then spews the same infection to others.
Remember what was said about California decades ago...”So goes California so goes the rest of the States.”
So goes California so goes the rest of the country is the version I always have heard.
It is coming true.
Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and now Texas.
Trump is going to have a hell of a time enforcing our southern border with all of the border states sitting on their hands.
