Democrats have gained an encouraging late boost in the battle for the Senate, with new polling placing their candidates ahead in three races that could shape control of the chamber.
A new Data for Progress survey gives Troy Jackson a 50 percent to 45 percent lead in Maine, Abdul El-Sayed a 50 percent to 46 percent edge in Michigan, and James Talarico a 49 percent to 45 percent advantage in Texas.
Polling captures opinion during a specific period rather than predicting an election result.
Each survey carries a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4 percentage points, meaning the apparent Senate leads should be treated as narrow rather than decisive.
Voters in those states face sharply contrasting choices, although each Democratic advantage is close enough to the survey’s margin of error that the races remain competitive.
Newsweek emailed the Republican and Democratic campaigns in each of these three Senate races requesting further comment on Saturday morning.

In the error margin for both. A name like Data for Progress makes me wonder about taking their material with those couple of grains of salt at least.
Data for Progress survey?
“Data for Progress” - sounds like an advocacy group to me.
How could we determine if they are biased to some degree or another?
Corporate media doing their best to pump up the democrats and suppress the republicans.
I’d rather examine early voting trends.
Did they poll the missing millions of Democrats?
I voted in person, with ID, already. No polling from an unknown liberal advocacy group can take it back.
Voters gone stupid , AGAIN ?
I hope it does the opposite. That is, a number of dems getting too confident to make the effort to vote, while our side just gets more intent on getting to the polls.
“Data for Progress is an American left-wing think tank, polling firm, and political advocacy group.”
So I recently received two separate phone calls from pollsters. Each with foreign accents. I believe they were hired to purposely achieve Republican under representation. Wasn’t in the mood to provide my thoughts and data to foreigners. All calculated psyops. Just get out there and vote.
I’m optimistic and I think we keep both houses. But people need to put in the effort on Tuesday.
Do you think they actually did a poll to get these fake numbers?
This is as stupid as when people agree to say she when it’s a he.
If Republicans care, they will show up and vote for the Republicans. A poll or an article or anything like that should not deter them from voting. If we lose, it’s the voters on the Republican side who are at fault.
Data for Progress? That doesn’t sound the least bit biased.
My Data for Conservative survey says the exact opposite.
We correctly predicted Beto Orourke would lose bigly a few years back.
Needs Barf Alert!
